Ringgold County Extension office held a farm safety day camp for kids Monday, August 7, at Poe Hollow Park with the help of Progressive Farmer. Thirty-five kids of all ages and six teenage helpers attended the camp.

Myrtle AKERS, a resident of Mount Ayr Health Care Center, received a centenarian awards from the Area XIV Agency on Aging office and was presented a certificate signed by Governor Thomas J. VILSACK. Myrtle will turn 101 on August 25, 2000.
