Craig Riggs of Seymour, a patient in the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, is convalescing satisfactorily from three .22-caliber bullet wounds suffered Tuesday evening of last week. According to authorities,
Riggs, 19-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Riggs of Tingley, an employee of the Seymour State Bank, had cleaned out his gun cabinet and a box of bullets, apparently thrown into the trash by mistake,
was set off when Riggs started a fire.
Ken Markley of Mount Ayr wond the Mount Ayr Open Golf Tournament Sunday with a 27 hole total of 104, four strokes under par.
Establishment of a new industry in Ringgold county drew nearer this week, following a meeting in Kansas City Tuesday of representatives of Ringgold county Development Corp. and
the Pioneer Manufacturing Company.
