Work began this week ot double the size of the Miracle Recreation Co. plant in Mount Ayr, according to Loren
INNIS, plant manager. Footing pouring was scheduled to begin this week with completion of the steel building
in the next 70 days, he said. The new addition will be 120 feet wide by 168 feet long, exactly the size of the
present building that was built in 1978 to attract industry to Mount Ayr.
New owners of Mount Ayr Implement Co., the area's Allis Chalmers implement dealer, are Jim and Margi CLARK. The
CLARKS bought the implement dealership from Bob FISHER and John McFARLAND, who have operated the business in
Mount Ayr for 35 years. Transfer of the business became official Wednesday, April 1.
A dinner was held honoring Frank and Edrie CULBERTSON who were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on
Sunday, April 5, in the home of their granddaughter, Cathy WARD of Mount Ayr.
Tom KRAMER of Kellerton, a student in the farm operation and farm management program at Ellsworth Community College, is a
student traniee on his first job placement with Darryl HUNT farm near Pleasantville.
The finishing touches were put on the plaza area on the playground at the Mount Ayr Community elementary school last week,
one of the ways money given in memory of Alberta MICKAEL is being used at the school. A redbud tree and a place to sit
provde a rest spot on the asphaulted playground area.
