Elise ELMER FOUNTAIN of Falls Church, VA, made a trip to Ringgold County for her 50th reunion at Diagonal and shared
50 years worth of interesting stories of her life as a nurse.
Tracee HUTCHINSON was installed as worth advisor of the Mount Ayr Assembly of the International Order of the Rainbow for
Girls at a ceremony held at the Mount Ayr Masonic Temple. Other officers installed were: worthy associate advisor, Erika
SHIELDS; charity Jennifer PEDERSEN; hope, Nicole OXLEY; faith, Shaun HAYSE; chaplain, Stacy FOLLAND (sic, should be Foland);
drill leader, Andie WIMER; love, DiAnna FARIS; religion, Michelle HYMBAUGH; nature, Emily SHIELDS; immortality, Margi
STEPHENS; fidelity, Heather GREENE; patriotism, Jenny FARIS; service, DeAnna FARIS; confidential observer, Danyale JOHNSON:
outer observer, Sara WATSON; musician, Dawn McGRATH; choir director, Suzi ELMER; recorder, Jackie FARIS; and,
treasurer, Andrea JACKSON.
The Mount Ayr Community Raiderettes softball team won their first four games of the season. Jamie DENNEY was the winning
picher (sic). Returning letter winners to the team include: Dana CAMPBELL, Andrea STILL, Marcy MOBLEY, Monica GREGG,
Dawn HUFF, Jamie DENNEY and Nicole OXLEY.
Army Spec. Todd W. TASSELL, son of Dennis R. and Roberta TASSELL of Diagonal, has arrived for duty at Fort Still, OK.
The Mount Ayr men's bowling team of Lee BRAND, Laurence BISHOP, Keith BASTOW and Ron SICKELS of Mounty Ayr and Cecil
DOLECHECK of Kellerton claimed the runner-up spot of the American Bowling Congress tornament in Wichita, KS.
Mary CAVIN, Ringgold County Neighborhood Center supervisor, was recognized for her service with an honorable mention
certificate at a 1989 Governor's Conference on Aging awards luncheon held in Des Moines.
Results from the Ringgold County Preview Show held at the fairgrounds include the following: inthe heifer show the Angus
champion was Lafe DUKES of Maloy; Limosin (sic) champion, William LONG of Afton; Simmental champion,
Jeremy TAYLOR of Allerton; and commercial heifer champion Cory WILLIS of Mount Ayr. In the market lamb competition,
Allison NELSON of Clearfield was a first place winner in class 4 competition; Brian NELSON of Clearfield had first
place in class 5; and Clay NELSON of Clearfield had first place in class 6.
