Three men have been nominated for mayor of Mount Ayr and six men have qualified for the five positions on the council. Candidates for mayor are: Truman DULANY, Howard PARIS and James WOOD. Mayor J. L. SCHARDEIN announced earlier that he would not be a candidate for re-election. Seeking positions on the council are: Robert R. HARE, Charles HARVEY, Gary McCULLOUGH, Doyle SCOTT, W. E. PINE and Vern M. TAGGART. HARVEY and SCOTT are candidates for re-election and the other four men are newcomers in city politics.

Benton, Delphos and Maloy are enjoying and sharing their new telephone service, which was converted to dial operation yesterday.

For the adult farmers class meeting to be held, farm fertilizers will be the subject for discussion.

Leola MINNICK was crowned Mount Ayr Community School's homecoming queen.
