Various activities will mark the close of the high school careers for 109 seniors -- 55 girls and 54 boys -- in the nine high schools of Ringgold county. Those graduating and their schools are:

The madrigal group of the Mount Ayr high school won a I rating at the state music contest held at Perry. Members of the group, under the direction of Miss Bertha MIDGORDON, are: Gene MILLER and Bob CLARKE, tenors; Patty STUCK and Rita WARIN, sopranos; Mary Margaret HOOD and Mary Jane EDDY, second sopranos; Norma Kay SNEDEKER and Robert DERICKSON, altos; and Louis WILSON and Rex STUCK, basses.

In recognition of 50 years of affiliation with Faith Lodge No. 179, A.F. & A.M., J. B. CURRIE was honored April 30 at the Masonic Lodge in Mount Ayr.

The Bridge Academy schoolhouse, one mile west of Tingley, was sold Saturday at public auction to Vernon BOWEN of Jefferson township, for $315. The schoolhouse was owned by Kilroy Post No. 8881, V.F.W. Dennis OWENS served as auctioneer.
