A longtime member of the Ringgold county board of supervisors announced this week that he will not seek re-election.
He is Earl WHEELEN of Maloy, who is completing 16 years as a member of the board. That is the longest period ever
served by any member of the board. In his statement, WHEELEN said, "The 16 years I have served on the board, it has been
my aim to work with other board members and county officials with the hope that I will leave office with a good image
for myself, the Democrat party, and more important, Ringgold county. In spite of growing controls imposed by state and
federal governments, there is still much that can be done at the county level to insure good county government." For the
present, WHEELEN will continue to live on his farm near Maloy.
Doyle TRULLINGER has announced his candidacy for re-election for a second term on the board of supervisors.
