"Raiders Rerun A Homecoming Victory" is the theme for the Mount Ayr Community high school homecoming activities
this week. King candidates included Caleb BAKER, son of Jerry and Mary BAKER of Clearfield; Wes ALLEN, son of John
and Cindy ALLEN of Tingley; Matt ROUTH, son of Joe and Julie ROUTH of Mount Ayr; Travis HINZ, son of Bob and
Marlene HINZ of Ellston, and Randy DERSCHEILD, son of Raymond and Deb DERSCHEID of Ellston. Queen candidates were
LaSahy FRENCH, daughter of Bob and Sandy FRENCH of Mount Ayr; Chandra DRAKE, daughter of Greg and Diane DRAKE
of Mount Ayr; Jolene FROST, daughter of Doug and Joyce FROST of Kellerton; Randi REYNOLDS daughter of Andy and
Nancy REYNOLDS of Mount Ayr; and Natalie GOLLIDAY, daughter of Kirk and Denise GOLLIDAY of Mount Ayr.
A retirement reception for Kay TERWILLIGER from the Iowa Department of Human Services office in Ringgold County
was held Monday in the Ringgold county courthouse. Kay retired August 31 after more than 35 years with the
department. She began work on January 4, 1965. Kay received a certificate of recognition of retirement
for a long and meritorious service to the state.
The Mount Ayr Community junior high and high school bands brought home three trophies with top three placings in
their events from the Clarinda Jamboree.
The Mount Ayr Raiders battled back from a 21-7 halftime deficit to defeat Shenandoah 34-28 before a big home
crowd Friday night.
