Superiority at connecting for charity tosses proved effective for members of Coach OBERMEIER'S Tingley girls' basketball
team as they downed a scrappy Williams team, 56 to 52, Wednesday afternoon in the opening game of the lower bracket
of the state tournament. Pacing the winners were Linda RICHARDS who scored 27 points and Jenesse OVERHOLTZER who hit for 24.
A couple of unheralded substitutes rose to the occasion to upset Tingley as Redding won their first seasonal game over
Tingley, 53 to 49 in boys basketball. Gerald STERNER and Harold GARNER scored 22 and 18 points in making 40 of Redding's
winning total. Redding will go on to the sub-state tournament at Red Oak.
