The Ringgold County Board of Supervisors held an open meeting last Tuesday regarding hog confinements. Supervisors Kenneth QUICK, Jim GOINS and Lloyd
BEDIER led a discussion of the county's options concerning large scale hog confinements.
Bob ROE, owner of Bob Roe Insurance Service in Mount Ayr for the past 15 years, announced his retirement to clients last week. ROE sold the business to
Phil TYLER of Tyler Insurance Service, Inc., of Creston. TYLER will be taking over the business in Mount Ayr on Jan. 1, 1998.
Deborah KING of rural Benton was honored recently by the Iowa Music Teachers Association for her original piano composition, "Blues on the Board." KING
received second place in the annual composition contest. KING is nine years old and is home schooled. July KING, age seven, aslo entered her composition,
"Mystery Blues," and received honorable mention. Both are daughters of James D. and Susan KING.
Diana Lee HOLLAND has accepted the position of minister at the First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr.
