Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

Four Raiders gained berths on the All-Conference football team, members of which were selected by coaches of the Tall Corn Conference during a meeting held Monday night. They are Dan COULSON, senior, tackle; Gale MILLER, senior, center; Barry MONAGHAN, senior, quarterback; and Duane MILLER, junior, back. Roger TRULLINGER, end, and Alvin SICKELS and Jerry KNIGHT, backs, were included on the second team.

Bob BOESCH, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Leo TAYLOR of Mount Ayr, was included among membrs of the Little All-American all-league football team presented awards by Governor Harold Hughes Saturday morning at the Y.M.C.A. in Des Moines. Bob, the 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry BOESCH (Annabell TAYLOR) of Des Moines and a student at the Kurtz Junior High School, was chosen as the best guard of the city.

News of Men in the Armed Services -- Jerry DULANY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Truman DULANY of Mount Ayr, who has served for five and one half years, recently re-enlisted for a period of six years. Jerry, who was promoted last week to the rating of sergeant will remain in the Kansas City, MO. Records Center for another year, after which he will be re-assigned.
