Mount Ayr native, Alan WILSON, now of New Virginia, accepted a job assignement the middle of September 1994 to go to
Egypt and found it a "whole different ballgame" - challenging, hot, culturally and religiously very different from
the United States, but intriguing. WILSON, son of Bud and Margaret WILSON, of rural Mount Ayr, a 1971 graduate of
Mount Ayr Community high school, had worked at different sales jobs before returning to school at Southwestern
Community College in Creston to major in structural drafting. Now WILSON works for Seed and Grain Systems of
New Virginia which specializes in handling seed from "bulk to the bag." His company has built seed plants in a number of
different foreign countries in teh 10 years he has ben an employee.
Kendall CRAWFORD, nine-year-old son of Marla and Bernard CRAWFORD of Mount Ayr, is part of a Channel 5 television
ad for the upcoming drive for funds for the Varsity Club. CRAWFORD has resided at Children's Habilitaion Center in
Johnston since 1987. Kendall was featured on a publication of the Convalescent Home for Children Organization,
winter 1995 edition, called "In Touch."
Jacobs KNIGHT placed second in the wrestling state tournament.
