Matt Bevington, of Mount Ayr, has been appointed chairman for Ringgold county to coordinate local planning for "Coffee Day" Friday or Saturday.

George Waddell, art instructor at Graceland College at Lamoni, has taken charge of the art classes at Mount Ayr Community high school. He replaces Gary Mozingo, who is hospitalized in Omaha, NE.

Mount Ayr's debate squad gained the right to advance to the state debate tournament after participating in the district debate tournament at Lamoni Saturday, February 25.

The Mount Ayr Raiders lost their first game in boys' district play at Osceola Tuesday night as Winterset won 76-62.
