Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Jack) WILKEY of Clark SD have been officially notified by Army headquarters of the death of their
son, Pvt. Franklin H. WILKEY in Korea. WILKEY, 17 years of age, son of Harold and Lula WILKEY, former residents of
the Ellston vicinity, was listed as missing in action in Korea in September.

Private WILKEY was a member of the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting
the enemy in South Korea on September 3, 1950. Private WILKEY was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's
Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean
Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
