Retirement open house planned for Douglas Schwandt
A welcome home and retirement celebration honoring Sgt. Douglas L. SCHWANDT is planned for Sunday, Nov. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m.
at Breadeaux Pizza in Mount Ayr. SCHWANDT has returned home after being deployed at Fort Campbell, KY, and serving one
year of active duty in response to the September 11, 2001 tragedies. SCHWANT has now served 20 years in the Iowa
Army National Guard and will begin his retirement November 1, 2002.
