VICTOR H. MENDENHALL
Victor H. MENDENHALL joined the U.S. Navy during World War II in November of 1942. He served as a 3rd Class pharmacist's mate
at Great Lakes Naval Training Station and at the U.S. Navy Recruiting Office in Kansas City. Victor was sent overseas,
taking part in the Invasion of Normandy. He served on an LST, transporting heavy artillery into France. He returned to
England wounded. After the Invasion of Normandy, Victor was sent back to the United States where he was stationed at
the U.S. Naval Hospital, Boston, where he remained until his discharge in November of 1945.
