OSCAR A. JACKSON
JACKSON, OSCAR A., County Clerk; born Mount Ayr, IA June 11, 1891; son of M. A. and Alice S. (STANBROUGH) JACKSON;
attended Drake University, Des Moines, IA 1918-16; married December 16, 1917 at Beatrice, Nebraska to Inez BINGHAM;
children: Joseph A JACKSON, Joan Mary (JACKSON) GLORSO, and Alice (JACKSON) CLAY. Oscar was employed as a draftsman in sawmill division of Allis Chalmers Mfg. Co.,
Milwaukee Wis. 1919-1925; farmed in Todd Co. SD from 1925 to 1982; farmed in Keyapaha Co. from 1983 to 1884; served as
County Clerk of Keyapaha County commencing 1934. During World War I Oscar enlisted in the U. S. Army on September 5, 1917, O/S June 4,
1918-May 22, 1919, in battles of St. Mihiel, Eisiezen sector Meuse Argonne; discharged as a Sgt. of Casual
Detachment Co. D. Oscar was a member of the American Legion and the Disciples of Christ Christ Church, and politically a
Demorcrat. Residence, Springview.
Oscar A. JACKSON died on May 22, 1953, with interment at Fort McPherson National Cemetery,
Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska.
