PVT 1st CLASS KENNETH E. DAVENPORT
Kenneth E. DAVENPORT was born February 19, 1931. Private First Class DAVENPORT was a member of the 32nd Infantry
Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on January 22, 1953.
Private First Class Davenport was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal,
the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the
Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

A book, entitled "The God That Failed," edited by Richard Crossman, has been presented to the Mount Ayr Public Library
by Ringgold Unit No. 172 American Legion Auxiliary. The presentation was made "in memory of PFC Kenneth E. DAVENPORT,
who made the supreme sacrifice January 22, 1953, while fighting Communism in Korea - that all men may continue to
enjoy the blessings of freedom."
