JAMES FRANCIS BOPP

JAMES FRANCIS BOPP
1907 - 1982

James Francis BOPP joined the U.S. Army in 1928 and served with the infantry. He saw action during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre at Papua, New Guinea. He earned the rank of 1st Lieutenant. James was given the American Defense Service Medal and the Asiatic Campaign Medal with two bronze stars.

Following his active duty, James remained in the U.S. Army Reserve. After 28 years of service for his country, James retired in 1948 with a rank of major.

James was interred beside his wife Margaret W. BOPP at Saint Mary's Cemetery near Maloy, Ringgold County, Iowa
