TEC5 WARREN A. ALLEN
Warren A. ALLEN, the only child of Theodosia "Theo" Marie (COIE) and Albert ALLEN, was born on February 8, 1919. He
attended school in Tingley and was a 1936 graduate of Tingley High School. Warren graduated from Tarkio College.
During World War II, Warren enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 112th Engineering Division of the 1st
Army. Warren was killed in action on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Theo, who was dying of cancer, knew that her only
son was missing in action. The word that Warren was killed in action did not arrive until after Theo's death. Albert
decided to have Warren interrred in France.
TEC5 Warren A. ALLEN served in World War II with the U.S. Army, 112th Engineer Combat Battalion.
He was K.I.A. on D-Day, Tuesday, June 6, 1944, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
TEC5 ALLEN was interred at Normandy American Cemetery,
Colleville-sur-Mer, France, Plot 1, Row 23 Grave B.
Warren's photograph, citations, and Purple Heart hang in Tingley's Community Center. There is a memorial stone
in Warren's honor at the Tingley Cemetery.
