Orin Gilbert SPENCER was born in Piatt County, Illinois, on July 24, 1868. He came to Ringgold County, Iowa, in 1876 with his parents, James W. and Malinda (FRANKLIN) SPENCER, and the family settle on a farm near Delphos. Orin married Julia Belle BAIRD on July 3, 1890, Redding, Iowa. The couple raised their seven children on their home farm located in Middle Fork Township of Ringgold County. Orin died at Mount Ayr on June 7, 1947. Julia was born January 26, 1867, Redding, Iowa, the daughter of Absalom and Isabella (POORE) BAIRD. She died April 11, 1953, Mount Ayr, Iowa. Orin and Julia were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
