James Franklin FOSTER, son of Arlington &Louisa (WHEATON) FOSTER, was born July 11, 1861, Muskingum County, Ohio, and died at the age of 77 on August 26, 1938, Downieville, Sierra County, California. He married on December 26, 1886 at Caledonia, Ringgold County, Iowa, to Rena M. WALTERS who was fifteen-years-old at the time of her marriage.

Rena M. (WALTERS) FOSTER was born February 26, 1872, Lotts Creek Township of Ringgold County, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew F. WALTERS (1831-1910) and Lucinda C. (?) WALTERS (1837-1903). Rena died at the age of 79 on May 7, 1950, Downieville, Sierra County, California.

Homer A. FOSTER, the first of seven children born to James Franklin and Rena M. FOSTER, was born on April 14, 1890, Lotts Creek Township of Ringgold County, Iowa. He died at the age of 74 on August 27, 1895, Downieville, Sierra County, California.
