THE ROY FORCE FAMILY

Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Flossie) FORCE and sons Emery and Clifford moved from Parnell, Missouri to the former LAMBERT farm northeast of Maloy in 1937. The three men worked as farmhands for Lee SHAY. Another son, Albert and wife Vera, also lived there and he also worked on the Lee SHAY farm.

While there, Clifford married Cleta BURCH [daughter of Guy and Ada (BROWN) BURCH] of Benton in August of 1938. In 1939 they all moved back to their home near Parnell exept Clifford and Cleta who moved to the former SHIELDS place, also known as the Calista CORNWELL (sic, should be Callista CONWELL) farm from 1938 until 1941. They later moved to Mount Ayr where they now live in retirement.

They had three children: Sharon, Glenys and Alan. They now have four grandchildren.

Emery married Iona PALMER of Benton in 1940 and the couple made their home in Missouri and Kansas. They had three children and three grandchildren and Emery passed away in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1981.

Albert and Vera still [1987] live in Parnell and have six children and thirteen grandchildren.

The FORCES also had a daughter Effie who married and lived in Missouri and Kansas. She had two children and several grandchildren. She passed away in 1981 in Kansas City.

Roy FORCE passed away in March of 1949 and Flossie died in 1953.

Cleta remembers her Maloy neighbors Jim WARD and Marion MULL and Mrs. Molly McNUTT and children Dean and Maxine.

NOTES: Albert FORCE was born in 1913, and died in 1993. Albert married Vera M. DOWNING on November 4, 1938. Vera, the daughter of C. Elmer and Lavina DOWNING, was born in Nodaway County, Missouri in 1921, and died in 1995. Sheridan, Missouri. They were interred at Luteston Cemetery, Sheridan, Nodaway County, Missouri. Albert and Vera were the parents of six children: Albert Richard, Charles Leroy, Robert, Donald Dean, Ronald and Linda.

Iona Lucille (PALMER) FORCE, the daughter of Oral E. and Dicy Fern (GOLLIDAY) PALMER, was born in Benton, Iowa on June 14, 1921. She died at the age of 86 years on September 23, 2007, Clinton, Missouri and was interred at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.

Clifford FORCE was born in 1916; Cleta L. (BURCH) FORCE was born in 1920; and their son Allan Kurt FORCE was born March 3, 1957. They were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
