EILEEN (SHAY) & KENNETH HUTCHINSON FAMILY
Eileen SHAY and Kenneth HUTCHINSON were married in 1942 in Maloy. Eileen [daughter of Joseph Leo "Lee" and
Teresa (EASON) SHAY] was teaching there, and Kenneth was
employed by Iowa Southern Utilities. Eileen was graduated from Ottumwa Heights College, attended the
University of Southern California, and received a B.A. degree from Drake University. Kenny attended Graceland
College. Eileen taught in elementary schools in Corwith, Wiota, Maloy and Grinnell. She retired in 1974 and
passed away in 1979. Kenny died in 1978. Their children are William (1943), Stephen SHAY (1945), and Teresa
Ann (Mrs. Pat PICKENS) born in 1948. William received a B.A. degree from Notre Dame University and a master's
degree from the University of Virginia. He lives in Dorchester, Massachusetts and has one son Thaddeus.
Steve received a B.A. degree from Long Beach State and taught English and physical education in California and
in Mesa, California. He also served as junior high principal in Brawley, California. Tere Ann and
Pat have two children: Leslie (18) and Christopher (14). They live in Couer d' Alene, Idaho where Tere
teaches special education and Pat serves as school psychologist.
NOTES:
Teresa "Eileen" (SHAY) HUTCHINSON was born in 1915, and died in 1979. Eileen married on December 26, 1942
Kenneth William HUTCHINSON. Kenneth was born July 20, 1917, and died March 19, 1978. They were interred at
St. Mary's Cemetery near Maloy.
