113 year era ends at Delphos
For 113 years the town of Delphos southwest of Mount Ayr has had a post office, but Friday, Nov. 19, that era came to an
end. The post office, which has been located in the Seaton Store in Delphos in recent years, was closed with the end of
the business day. June STEINMAN, who has served as postmistress and was in charge of the post office there, took down
the American flag in front of the building to symbolize the end of the era. Delphos residents will be served through
the Redding post office as part of a rural route. The Delphos town name can still be used on mail, but it will be with
a Redding route number.
