Wood Family holds reunion
The Wood family gathered together for the family reunion (above).

A WOOD family reunion was held on August 25 at the home of LeRoy and Sandi WOOD. A total of 120 family members wearing
their own family branch colored t-shirts came from as far as California, Wyoming, Missouri, Texas, Nevada, North Dakota,
Kansas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Illinois and all corners of Iowa. A family meeting was held at 2 p.m. and was called to
order by the "most responsible cousin," Sheri WOOD FROST. Business discussed: welcomes, introductions, announcements and
any comments from family members who could not make it. LeAnne O'MAILIA WALSH graciously volunteered to take on the task
of the WOOD family historian. Recognition: Mike, Mercy and Nick WOOD came the greatest distance. LeRoy WOOD had the most
family members there with 38. Ron WOOD had his entire family there. Oldest family members present: 93-year-old Pauline WOOD
and the youngest was six-month-old Owen HAMILTON, son of Wesley HAMILTON. The host family for the next WOOD reunion will
be the Janet WOOD JACKSON family and the date is to be announced. The entire family wanted to give a special thanks to Al
RUTER for preparing and cooking the porkloin. It was excellent! The rest of the day was filled with lots of family stories
and, of course, some serious competition. Winners of the contests and games: Best Bloody Mary cocktail -- fourth place,
Quincy MAIN; third place, Ron WOOD; second place, LeRoy WOOD, and first place, Kevin FROST. Generation Look-a-likes --
second place, LeRoy WOOD, Steve WOOD, Scott WOOD, Lincoln GREENE and Ryan REYNOLDS and first place, Pauline WOOD, Janet
WOOD JACKSON, Vicki SICKELS-OSLAND and Jami SICKELS. Breezy-looks-familiar -- Ryan REYNOLDS. WOOD Olympics winning team
members -- Captain Bob POTTORFF, Steve WOOD, Jeff JOBE, Quincy ADLI, Jami SICKELS, Faith FLEENER and Mike O'MAILIA.
