Tingley News
Another successful Grandchild Day was hosted by the meal site Friday, July 26. Over 20 guests were present to share the
occasion. These guests included grandchildren, real ones and some who were borrowed for the occasion, children and
friends. Being Friday, entertainment was provided and led by the Friday Singers who were accompanied on the piano by
Eloise BROWN and directed by Marge WERNER. Some fun songs and activities for young folks were included in their choices.
Watching the young folks provided fun for the older ones. A dancing doll and her partner waltzed their way around
the tables and audience. All sure loved that. Barb BENTLEY might happen to know who that doll was. Marge WERNER and
Frances DAVENPORT each brought a reading to share about grandchildren. The day even had a party atmosphere. Toys brought
by the meal participants lined the tables for centerpieces. Done especially to interest the youngsters, all ages enjoyed
them. Everyone received nut cups made and donated by Twilla and Keith LININGER. These are always a treat. Ice cream cups
for all and pop for the guests were treats enjoyed from the meal site. Eloise and Harold BROWN provided stickers and
balloons for the children. These are always a hit with kids. A new couple, Elaine and Joe BOYER of Mount Ayr, were among
those present. All hope to see them back and lots more of them. Guest made Grandchild Day fun for all. Those present Friday
who were privileged to have guests and their guests for the occasion were: Marge WERNER had her two grandchildren, Joe
WERNER and Bonnie LARSON; Eloise and Harold BROWN had daughter Joni ROBISON, granddaughter Heather ROBINSON and borrowed
for the day were Christian and Christiana OVERHOLTZER and two of their friends; Darlene WHITE had several children and
grandchildren including Sandy and Jerry WHITE and Keving and Marla and Jordan CRAWFORD; Ken MORROW had his two granddaughters,
