The 89th annual OVERHOLTZER reunion was held at the Tingley Community Building on August 5, 2012. Host and hostess were Howard and Jenesse TULL of Tingley.

Rev. Jack KENDALL gave the blessing followed by David OVERHOLTZER leading the 68 relatives and guests in the pledge of allegiance. As with every OVERHOLTZER reunion, the potluck dinner table was overflowing with food.

After dinner, the OVERHOLTZER Olympics was held in the yard of the community building with several teams of old and young competing in various games. Gold dollars, silver half dollars and bronze rolls of pennies were given as prizes.

Jenesse TULL also conducted an OVERHOLTZER trivia game with several prizes being awarded.

David OVERHOLTZER conducted the business meeting. A letter was read from Richard and Joan OVERHOLTZER from San Jose, CA. Richard and Joan have always been world travelers and would fill us in on their journeys over the years. In this year's letter they said they had turned in their traveling shoes and would be spending their time between California and Arizona.

Marriages reported were Justin Lee CHERINGTON and Chanette MULVE married October 3, 2010; Tyler Jordan CHERINGTON and Cassaundra Rae WARE married September 8, 2011, Julie Ann KENDAL and Dwane FRY married November 22, 2011 and Carrie Marie BEGELAND and Nolan Gerald HERRING married July 25, 2009.

Births reported were Damien Zephry SCOTT born on July 9, 2012, Avery Grace HOUK born March 7,2012, Maddox Gage MANN born November 8, 2011, Tieg SCHWEITZBEGER born December 12, 2011 and Braden Dean JOHNSON born July 7, 2012.

Lila OVERHOLTZER of Mount Ayr was the only reported death.

Next year will be the 90th anniversary of the reunion and Cleone OVERHOLTZER HOSFIELD volunteered to be the hostess. The SCOTT family and others will also help with the planning.

Several ideas were given for special ways to celebrate. Hopefully there will be at least 90 people in attendance next year to celebrate the family milestone on August 4, 2012.
