Faris/Sawyer Cousin Reunion
The 2013 FARIS/SAWYER cousin reunion was held July 26 and 27 in Loveland, CO which was planned and organized by the Colorado
cousins. Forty-two cousins attended from Colorado, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Iowa. The Friday evening meal was
prepared and served at the Fireside Cafe at Group Publishing in Loveland, CO by Kristin KLING (Dennis KLING'S wife) who is
chef at the cafe. One highlight of the evening was the ability to make s'mores at the fire pit. Another highlight was
viewing the quilts that Debbie KLOMMHAUS brought and displayed that were made in memory of her son, Konner. These quilts
were made from Konner's t-shirts and blue jeans. Lee FARIS had brought pictures and a story about the old Farmall tractor
that he owns and was recently restored by the MACHS FFA Ag Mechanics class. Lots of visiting and reacquainting were
enjoyed. The FARIS/SAWYER Cookbook was distributed to those who had ordered them. The cookbook includes 400 of their
family favorite recipes, some of them dating back to their great-grandmothers. Everyone was free to go sight-seeing
during the day Saturday. Then Saturday evening they met at a park in Loveland for a meal of grilled meats, salads, desserts
and beverages. All of the salads and desserts were made from recipes in the cookbook. Many pictures were taken throughout
the evening. Those in attendance were Jim and Katie FARIS, Courtney FARIS and Patty HAMILTON of Lancaster, CA; Karla and
Bill MOBERLY of Santa Rosa, CA; Laurie WILLIAMS of Davis CA; Richard and Judi FARIS of Kaneohe, HI; Kevin and Carol FARIS of
Las Vegas, NV; Darlene and Don KLING, Dennis and Kristin KLING, Tyler, Annie and Alexis and Denise KELLEY, Calvin and Camryn of Loveland, CO; Marcia and Brant SNOOK, Christopher and Donovan of Fort Collins, CO; Lucille and Ron DEEMER of
Davis City; DeAnna PENNINGS and Taylor of Sioux City, and Lee FARIS, Rodney and Liz FARIS and Justin, Jackie and
Russ STEWART and Trent and Hallee, Debbie KLOMMHAUS and Kylee and Louise STAMPER of Mount Ayr. A wonderful weekend
was had by all and it was decided to have the next reunion in Iowa in 2015.
