Duffield Family Reunion
The descendants of Givens DUFFIELD held their 26th annual reunion July 15 at the Warren County Farm Bureau Building in
Indianola. A delicious potluck dinner was enjoyed at noon. There were 38 people in attendance including three first
cousins, Doris GIBSON, Vera ROBINS and Tom DUFFIELD. The hosts of this year's reunion were the family of Ray DUFFIELD,
one of Givens' 13 children. The tables were decorated in a red, white and blue theme. Prizes were given for those over 90
years of age, which were Doris GIBSON (97) and Vera ROBINS (92); also to the youngest which was Kaydyn BOLINGER, daughter
of Chad and Jerica BOLINGER of Diagonal; and the ones coming the farthest distance, which were Janice and Keith REASON
and their grandson from Clear Lake. The winner of the door prize was Vera ROBINS. A short business meeting was held.
Roll call of families and introductions were made. A memorial poem was read and a few moments were given in honor of our
two family members deceased during this past year, Dennis DUFFIELD and Thelma WHITSON. A couple of group games were
played; "Who Am I?" and "Name the Iowa Towns." Notepads were given to each adult as a parting gift, and the rest of the
afternoon was devoted to visiting and reminiscing. Family history books and pictures were displayed. Those attending
were Keith and Janice REASON and grandson Dakota of Clear Lake; Don and Juanita CLOUSE of Massena; Joan CAREY of Earlham;
Donna CAREY of Winterset; Vera ROBINS of Des Moines; Pat EDWARDS and Scott EDWARDS of Urbandale; Barry and Pam JACKSON of
Kellerton; Jerica and Chad BOLINGER and Kaydyn of Diagonal; Kathy RAINS of Leon; Kellie RAINS, Jacob, Jada, Jillian and
Joshua of Ames; John and Deb QUINNELL, Jeff and Liam ALLYN of West Des Moines; Curt and Anne DUFFIELD, Cody DUFFIELD, Leo
and Jolene JOHNSON and Jessie of Cedar Rapids; Tom and Joyce DUFFIELD of Lucas; Linda AUFFERT of Clarinda; Doris GIBSON of
Kellerton; Bryan KASTER of Harlan, and Joyce KASTER and Brent KASTER of Indianola. Plans for the July 2013 reunion
will be made by the Cora DUFFIELD CLOUSE family.
