DUFFIELD FAMILY REUNION
Plans for this year's DUFFIELD family reunion began in October. The Lion's Park shelter house in Urbandale was
rented and invitations were sent out early in the spring. Everyone was looking forward to their 28th annual reunion
on July 18. But in the wee hours of the morning, a terrific storm hit Urbandale and surrounding areas of Des Moines.
When Pat and Tim EDWARDS arrived at the shelter house to set up the tables, they were met with many downed trees and
branches. The beautiful neighborhood park had been badly hit and, in the shelter house, there was no power! Oh dear,
what to do? But the reunion went on! The gathering was moved to the EDWARDS' home, where the DUFFIELDS, young and
old alike, had a wonderful afternoon of reminiscing, sharing family photos, getting reacquainted and making plans for
next year's reunion. A delicious potluck dinner was served at noon. Those in attendance were Barry and Pam JACKSON,
LaDonna PRIME and Doris GIBSON of Kellerton; Joyce KASTER and Brent KASTER of Indianola; Donald and Juanita CLOUSE of
Massena; Joan CAREY of Earlham; Denny DUFFIELD and Curt and Ann DUFFIELD and grandson Dillon of Cedar Rapids; Donna
CAREY of Winterset; John and Deb QUINELL and Vera ROBINS of Des Moines; and Pat and Tim EDWARDS of Urbandale.
