Twice-A-Week News Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa 1898
Dr. A. B. OGDEN.
Dr. A. B. OGDEN, M.D., was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, in 1860. He chose for his life work the medical profession and
received his degree in 1884 from the Cincinnati medical college. After leaving school he was associated with his brother
in practice in East Liverpool, but deciding to try his fortune father west he came to Delphos, Ringgold county, remaining
there four years, during which time he won for himself the esteem of the community, building up a large and paying
practice and establishing his reputation as a surgeon. He then returned to Ohio and practiced for two years, but as he
liked the western country best, he again returned to Ringgold county, locating this time in Mt. Ayr, where the field was
much larger. He has succeeded in building up a profitable and successful business in both medical and surgical
lines, in which he is well qualified and supplied with appliances to aid him in his battle with the fell destroyer, Disease.
In 1893 the doctor was elected coroner of Ringgold county by a nice majority, thus having another channel by which to study the
ravages of disease as shown in the post-mortem. In 1895 he was again elected to the coroner's office, in spite of a refusal
to be a candidate for the office. NOTE: Dr. Aaron B. OGDEN was born December 12, 1859, and died
September 3, 1923. He was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
