FRANKLIN S. MAIN
Franklin S. MAIN, was born November 3, 1916 at Mount Ayr, Iowa. He graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1934.
Franklin and Louise BURCHETT were married in 1937 and were the parents of two children, Nancy and Stewart, and resided
in Lamoni, Decatur County, Iowa. Franklin owned and operated a 240 acre farm located in Bloomington Township of
Decatur County. He served on Agricultural Adjustment Administration and Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation committees and was a member of the National Farm Organization. Franklin
served on the local school board and was chairman of the rural county heart fund. The MAINS
were members of the Baptist Church. Franklin was elected as a representative to the Iowa General Assembly in 1956. He
was elected as a Senator in 1962.
