A Brick Manufacturer.
Of recent years a large number of brick buildings have been put up in Mt. Ayr, creating a strong demand for building material.
Hence on of Mt. Ayr's leading manufacturing industries is the Mt. Ayr brick yard, of which John L. FOWLER is the
proprietor. Mr. FOWLER was born in Michigan in 1858 and has been engaged in the brick making business for about 25 years.
he was a brick manufacturer at Council Bluffs and Omaha for 10 or 12 years. He came to Mt. Ayr in 1894 and engaged in the brick
manufacturing business with W. B. INGRAM. This spring he purchased his partner's interest and is being highly successful
in the conduct of this enterprise. Mr. FOWLER employs eight hands, his plant having the capacity of 15,000 brick per day.
