Daughter of former residents writes book
The daughter of former Ringgold County residents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest FOLTZ, has published her second book titled,
"Mistakes That Worked." Charlotte FOLTZ JONES began writing stories at the age of eight and poetry while she was in
high school. She is a graduate of Central Business College in Denver, CO and studied writing at the University of
Colorado. Her first book, "Only Child: Clues for Coping," was published in 1984. She is alo the author of over 100
magazine stories. While she admits that most of her cooking and gardening mistakes have not worked, the success stories
of mistakes with happy endings inspired JONES to keep trying and, in fact, to write her book, "Mistakes That Worked".
John O'BRIEN, who has illustrated this book, also has engaging illustrations in more than 15 children's books and major
children's magazines, including "Cricket and Highlights for Children." The author lives with her family in Boulder, CO.
She is the niece of Edna RYAN, Donella HARTMAN and Harold FOLTZ, all of Mount Ayr. NOTE: Charlotte is the daughter
of Mildred and Jake FOLTZ and a granddaughter of Anna STEPHENS and Earl DEIBERT.
