1931 Celebrates His 89th Birthday LeMars Sentinel: John C. Ruble, residing at 401 Second Avenue SE, one of the few remaining veterans of the Civil war, celebrated his eighty-ninth birthday anniversary Thursday, December 17, at his home with relatives and a few friends who gathered to do him honor and extend congratulations and good wishes. Mr. Ruble volunteered for service at the beginning of the Civil war and served throughout the strife. He fought in a number of big battles and served as orderly for General Meade at Appomattox.
