Stanley married Mabel Harrington January 26, 1901. A few years after they were married they homesteaded near Volna, Colo.  Later they came back to Iowa and ran the Milnerville Store.  Then Mr. and Mrs. Lilly bought the Conway farm two miles south of Westfield in 1911 where they lived for twenty-seven years, after which time their son Wallace and family farmed the home place.  After Stanley’s death, March 6, 1940, Mabel moved to Westfield and lived there until her death, December 16, 1962.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lilly took an active part in the civic, church and social affairs of the community.  They were devoted to their family and their greatest pleasure was to be found in the family circle.  The family activities including ball games and picnics are still the center of many conversations.
