Burch - I'm at a brick wall with something and as most of the Burch-Carmichael-Collins immigrated to Page County in the mid 1800's there might be someone there that can help me. Like to hear from other researchers about these families. Thanks Woody | Roger.Woodruff@tinker.af.mil | |

Link - My 3g-grandfather, James Crossley Link, died at the Clarinda Asylum July 17, 1920. From an area Virginia archived newspaper article, it said that he was buried "in the Clarinda Cemetery." That makes the assumption that there is only one there. I saw something on-line (it may have been a "Goggle Earth" type thing where Clarinda was featured on a map). I thought I saw a small cemetery located north of Oak St. and just west of N. 16th St. If memory serves me correctly it was designated as either a pauper's cemetery or the asylum's cemetery. It appears on present Google Earth maps as just being farmland. The only cemetery they seem to show is the large Clarinda Cemetery. Does your research indicate that he was indeed buried there? James was born a twin to Abraham T. Link Oct. 3, 1829 in Rockbridge Co., VA. James lived there until about 1906 and moved west. He lived with his son, William Daniel Link, in Blockton for a time. He may have developed senility problems that necessitated him being institionalized???? He was 90 years old when he died. He applied for a post office pension in Rockbridge Co., VA before he left the area in 1906. That might imply that he perhaps had enough money set aside for a tombstone???? Thank you for any help you might be able to provide Donnie Noel Starcitty610@msn.com |

Monzingo Monzingo, ------ ------- died Jan 24, 1859 aged 39yrs 7mos & 17 dys. [The entire top of this tombstone is gone but we believe it to be Jennette Johnson Monzingo] Further information from Betty Ankeny: - Jenette JOHNSON MONZINGO. She was a member of the Covenanter Church, dau of James & Sarah JOHNSON; married Edward MONZINGO in Sept 1847, a native of South Carolina. He married (2) Elizabeth DRACE, dau of Henry & Mary DRACE, natives of Germany, on Dec 11, 1860. According to our records the tombstone was broken when the cemetery was read. Have a newsaper article with the above info, and we searched until we found a woman who died Jan 24, 1859. [From Pat O'Dell: the marriage of Jennett B. Johnson and Edward B. Montsinger, Sep 15, 1847 Clarke Co, Ind. The above Maggie McKee was the youngest daughter of Jennette and Edward Monzingo.]; Grove
The spelling of JOHNSON for Jennett Johnston Monzingo is leading me astray, as well as her middle initial, Jennett B. Everything else matches my information on Jennett T. Johnston. Can the Johnson and the "B" be misspellings? Any information you can give me would be helpful. There was a newspaper article with the information listed? Would that be available to me?
