William Crow Drowned

Word came here the first of the week that Wm. Crow, a former resident of this vicinity, had drowned in a river near Robstown, Texas, July 4th.  He and another man were out in a boat fishing.  The boat started to sink and Crow in attempting to get out slipped and fell, and it is supposed he fell in such a way that it strangled him and he could not get out.  The other man in the boat tried to save him but was unsuccessful.  He was drowned in twenty feet of water and the body was not secured or four hours after the accident.

The deceased was 22 years of age at the time of his death and was born and raised a few miles north of Coin.   He moved with is parent to Texas about three years ago.  The remains were brought to Coin for burial.  The funeral services were held at the M. E. church in this city Thursday morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Ausman, pastor of the Church of God of Shambaugh.  The remains  were interned at Snow Hill cemetery.
