Falk, Ivan Glen - Ivan Glen Falk, 82, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2005, at the Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Memorial graveside services were held for both he and his wife Reva on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the Essex Cemetery. Military rites were accorded by the Weatherall-Hadden-Holmes American Legion Post #333 of Essex for Ivan as a veteran of WWII.
Ivan was born on March 1, 1923, in Essex, Iowa to Lowell and Lillian (Lindburg) Falk. He graduated from Essex High School with the Class of 1940. He served in the United States Army Air Corp and was honorably discharged in 1945. Ivan met his future wife at the age of four while attending Sunday School at the the Bethesda, Iowa, Lutheran Church. Ivan married Reva Larson on June 24, 1944. Following Ivan's military service, the Falks lived in Clarinda and Essex, Iowa. They later moved to Columbus, Nebraska in 1965 and to Tucson in 1978.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Darrell Falk. Survivors include his son, Ron Falk and his wife Connie of Columbus, NE; daughter, Carol Falk and Lee Westfall of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Darin Falk and his wife Lindsay of Gainesville, FL, and Bryan Falk of Naples, FL; along with many extended family and friends.

Falk, Kenneth Orville - Kenneth Orville Falk, son of Paul L. and Lillie C. (Ecklof) Falk, was born on May 20, 1934 on the family farm northeast of Essex, Iowa, where his father was born. Kenny entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the age of 75.
The youngest of ten children, Kenny attended country school until moving into Essex in 1945, where he attended the Essex Community School. Kenny remained at home with his mother following his father’s death in 1954.
In November of 1966, Kenny was united in marriage to Grace Keller. Following their marriage they moved to Shenandoah. Grace and Kenny never had any children together though Grace had four children and several grandchildren who adopted and loved Kenny as their own. Grace passed away in June of 2002.
Kenny worked at Mount Arbor Nurseries in Shenandoah until their closing. After they closed he mowed yards and shoveled snow for several people and businesses around Shenandoah. After his health wouldn’t allow him to work any longer his time was devoted to taking care of and loving his cat, Tiger. He also enjoyed walking around downtown Shenandoah visiting with different people.
Kenny was baptized and confirmed in the Essex Covenant Church. In later years he attended the Faith Christian Church in Shenandoah. Kenny moved to Garden View Care Center in November of 2005.
Preceding Kenny in death were his parents, Paul and Lillie; wife, Grace; three brothers, Elmer, Ernest and Marvin Falk; and three sisters, Lillian Shumard, Louise Lassen and Ruth Falk.
Survivors include his brother, Paul Falk and his wife Fern of Mesa, AZ; two sisters, Dorothy Hall of Essex and Lois Kiper of Shenandoah; two step-sons, Donnie and Bob Keller both of Creston, IA; sister-in-law, Thelma Falk of Wheatridge, CO; and a number of nieces and nephews

Falk, Merle Edward - Merle Edward Falk, age 61, of Red Oak, Iowa was born July 9, 1946 in Clarinda, Iowa to Rudolph and Helen Falk. Merle passed away June 26, 2008 near Stanton, Iowa in a motorcycle accident.
Merle grew up on the family farm near Clarinda enjoying all the activities a farm offers but enjoying his six siblings the most. He graduated from Clarinda High School. Merle was employed at H & H Trailer Company as well as the Red Oak Y.M.C.A. where he was a member since it opened.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Samantha Falk.
Those who survive Merle are three sons; Michael Falk of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Brian Falk of Elmore, Alabama; and Douglas Falk of Red Oak, Iowa. His step daughter is April Cook of Emerson, Iowa. He had two grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren. His brothers and sisters include; Nancy and Dr. Dean Smith of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; Larry and Eileen Falk of Cutler, Indiana; Howard and Rosa Falk of Braddyville, Iowa; Louise and Gary Moore of Lawrence, Kansas; Brenda and Jeff Fiscus of Lake View, Iowa; and Steve and Ruth Falk of Clarinda, Iowa.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services for Merle Falk were held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Reformed Presbyterian (Covenanter) Presbyterian Church, rural Clarinda. Memorials are suggested to family choice. The Tradition of Walker-Merrick Funeral Home provided arrangements.

Falk, Reva J. Larson - Reva J. (Larson) Falk, 83, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on September 15, 2006, at the Tucson Medical Center. Memorial graveside services for both her and her husband Ivan were held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Essex Cemetery.
Reva was born on January 9, 1923 in Hepburn, Iowa to Albert and Addie (Brownlee) Larson. Reva met her future husband at the age of four while attending Sunday School at the the Bethesda, Iowa, Lutheran Church. Reva married Ivan Falk on June 24, 1944. Following Ivan's military service, the Falks lived in Clarinda and Essex, Iowa. They later moved to Columbus, Nebraska in 1965 and to Tucson in 1978.
Reva was preceded in death by her husband of 62 1/2 years, Ivan Falk; parents; and her brother, Kenny Larson. Survivors include her son, Ron Falk and his wife Connie of Columbus, NE; daughter, Carol Falk and Lee Westfall of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Darin Falk and his wife Lindsay of Gainesville, FL, and Bryan Falk of Naples, FL; along with many extended family and friends.

Falk, Rudolph Strong - Rudolph Strong Falk was born January 11, 1921 to Leslie and Elsie (Strong) Falk at Clarinda, Iowa.
He passed away on April 3, 2008 at his residence at the Eiler House in Clarinda at the age of 87.
Rudy graduated from Clarinda High School. He was president of the Brokaw FFA during the construction of the stone FFA Chapter House. Rudy married Helen Black Falk on October 30, 1943 near Clarinda, Iowa. As the third generation owner of the family farm, he delighted in his work with the livestock and crops on the land. He thoroughly enjoyed extending hospitality on their farm, especially taking people to the back pasture for cookouts. A member of the Clarinda Reformed Presbyterian (Covenanter) Church, Rudy served almost 60 years as a deacon. He was an Archer Oil distributor for years. Rudy served on the Page County Fair Board and as 4H Horse Superintendent. Rudy also served on the Board of Directors for the Clarinda Co-op and Page County Farm Bureau. He and Helen were active in the Circle 8 Square Dance Club and the Bedford and Clarinda Saddle Clubs. He and Helen retired from the farm and moved to Eiler House in January 2006.
Rudy was preceded in death by his wife Helen in March 2008; also his parents, his brother Carl, his sister Pauline Falk McClarnon, and brother in-law Merrill Black.
Rudy is survived by his children Nancy Smith and husband Dean of Beaver Falls, PA., Larry and wife Eileen of Cutler, In., Merle Falk of Red Oak, Ia., Howard and wife Rosa of Braddyville,Ia., Louise Moore and husband Gary of Lawrence,Ks., Brenda Fiscus and husband Jeff of Lake View, Ia., Steven Falk and wife Ruth of Clarinda; twenty-two grandchildren and many great grandchildren; brother-in-law Walter Black and wife Viki of Newhall, Ca., sisters-in-law Wilma Falk and Betty Black of Clarinda, and many other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Reformed Presbyterian (Covenanter) Church, Clarinda, with interment at Covenanter Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Falk, Wayne Lindburg - Wayne Lindburg Falk, son of Henning Ebenezer and Almiria Fredrika (Lindburg) Falk, was born on December 9, 1914, at rural Nyman, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, following a brief illness at the age of 91.
Wayne lived all his life in the rural Essex and Nyman area. As a youngster he attended Golden Rod Country School through the eighth grade. He graduated from Essex High School with the Class of 1932. Wayne was engaged in farming all of his life. On October 16, 1943, Wayne was united in marriage to Catherine Ann Harris at Emporia, Kansas. To this union two sons were born, Steve and Joe. Wayne loved everything about being a farmer. He especially liked doing field work, feeding cattle and keeping his place neat and tidy. He also enjoyed working and spending time with his dog, Louie. Wayne was a member of the Fremont Lutheran Church at Nyman. He was also a member of the Iowa Farm Bureau.
Preceding Wayne in death were his parents; his wife, Catherine, in 2001; and two sisters, Marjorie Nelson and Maxine Peterson. Survivors include his two sons, Steve Falk, Sr., and his wife Pat of Red Oak, Iowa and Joe Falk and his wife Joyce of Shenandoah, Iowa; five grandchildren, Steve Falk, Jr., and his wife Chris of rural Essex, Iowa, C. J. Hunt of Red Oak, Iowa, Cathy Falk of Denver, Colorado, Chris Falk of Red Oak, Iowa and Jason Falk of Shenandoah, Iowa; four great grandchildren; one sister, Lavose Trier of Anniston, Alabama; one nephew; two nieces; other relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Life memorial services were held on Thursday, January 19, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Words of comfort were given by the Rev. Gail Woods. Inurnment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah

Falk, William Edward - William Edward Falk was born January 2, 1926 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Rudy and Ruth (Chinlun) Falk. He passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 18, 2008 at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Bill attended Moline High School, leaving early to attend the University of Iowa. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville and the University of Louisville. He took his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and attended law school there, graduating in the Class of 1953.
On June 28, 1949, he was united in marriage to Julia Ferguson in Shenandoah, Iowa. The couple moved to Shenandoah in 1954 and was blessed with two children, Mark and Lisa. Bill served his community as Page County Attorney, and on the boards of the Shenandoah Community Schools and the Shenandoah Public Library. He was active in St. John’s Episcopal Church, serving as Senior Warden and as a member of the Vestry for many years.
Retiring from active practice in the early 1990’s, Bill pursued his interests in antiques, painting and travel. Bill and Julia traveled extensively and had numerous friends, both abroad and locally.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Julia of Shenandoah, Iowa; his children, Mark Falk of Iowa City, Iowa, Lisa Falk-Thompson and her husband Dennis of Eagan, Minnesota and Mr. Paul Shintani of Tokyo, Japan.

Farmer, Alvah Jane Kissack - Graveside services for Alvah Jane Farmer, 88 of Villica, IA, were held Friday, March 27, 2009 at the North Page Cemetery of rural Villisca. Mrs. Farmer passed away Tuesday, March 24th at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.
Alvah Jane (Kissack) Farmer was born February 2, 1921, at Henry, Nebraska the daughter of William and Gertie (Hawkins) Kissack. She grew up on the farm in the Lyman, Nebraska area and graduated from Lyman High School in 1939.
On April 5, 1942 she was married to Laurence “Larry” Farmer. They lived in Nebraska before moving to the Villisca area in the late 1940’s. She and her husband operate the Villisca Monument Works for 28 years. He preceded her in death in October 1970. She worked as a teller at the Nodaway Valley Bank for 12 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of the First Church of God and had served on the Villisca Library Board for several years. She loved to watch football and basketball, crochet, reading, loved music and was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed going to the Leid Center in Clarinda for water exercise classes.
Survivors include two brothers Merwin Kissack and wife Jeanette of Visalia, California and Gerald Kissack and wife Carrie Lu of Hemet, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, two brothers: Lloyd Kissack and Robert Kissack.

Farnsworth, Lorimor Dean - Lorimor Dean Farnsworth passed away on February 19, 2010. He was born on December 6, 1922 in Tarkio, MO, to Pauline (Shelby) and Francis Buland Farnsworth. He grew up around three aunts his age and thought of them as sisters. He was raised in the Westboro, MO and College Springs, IA area where he participated in the marching band and won many ribbons showing dairy cows in the Page County Fair. Dean graduated from Amity High School in College Springs with the Class of 1941. After taking some college courses, he joined the Army and served as a tech sergeant in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II stationed in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. After returning from the service, he met and married his soul mate Naomi "Pat" Esther Webb on March 7, 1948. They started their life together living in the Blanchard and Coin area, eventually settling in Shenandoah, IA.
Dean was then employed by Lane Brothers Drilling who aided him in creating his own business, the Dean Farnsworth Trenching Company in 1949 in Shenandoah. For fifty years Dean and his friend /employee Bert Shipley attended to the agricultural drainage and terracing needs, along with demolition, water, sewer and telephone installations of their many customers. One significant project was burying a telephone cable from the Coburg Tower, South of Red Oak, IA. to the SAC Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE. In 1965 while demolishing the Squire’s Locker building in Shenandoah, Dean was involved in an accident that left him in a coma for several days with multiple injuries. Always determined, Dean battled back from the injuries to return to the business full time.
DeanÂ’s interest outside of work included square dancing and traveling. He also enjoyed watching professional sports, cheering on the Phoenix Suns basketball team, exercising at the Recreation Centers, and eating ice cream, especially "Frosties" at Wendy’s. Dean was a 60 year member of the Shenandoah First United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and Shenandoah Elks Lodge #1122.
He worked very hard building his business and the trust of his customers through the years. He felt he had been helped by so many people in his business that he wanted to give back to the state of Iowa and help the future civil engineers of Iowa. Thus, he has given a portion of his estate to the Iowa State University Civil Engineering Department and he has established the Dean Farnsworth Scholarship in Civil Engineering.
In 1991 Naomi "Pat" passed away after an extended illness. In 1993 he met Dorothy Hiatt in Sun City, AZ where he spent his winters. They married and lived in Arizona in the winter traveling to Colorado and Iowa during the other seasons. Dorothy remained his companion and cared for him until his passing. She is a resident of Sun City, AZ. and will continue to cherish their time together.
Dean was preceded in death by his wife Pat, his parents, the aunts he grew up with, and his sister-in-law Hazel Bussard and her husband Estele. His survivors include his significant other Dorothy Hiatt Farnsworth; daughter Detra and husband Russell Braymen of Coin, IA., grandchildren Phillip and wife Jessica Braymen, Kutris Braymen and daughter Willow, Maria Braymen, Valerie Braymen and daughter Braelynn Kirby; son Ryan and wife LeAnn Farnsworth of Shenandoah, IA., and grandchild Melissa Farnsworth; step-children Anita and husband Russell Livingston and Gary and wife Geri Hiatt; nephew Gary and wife Betty Bussard, special god-daughter Kathryn and husband Robert Hanrath along with many other relatives and friends.

Fastenau, Wilma Anna Rope - Wilma Anna (Rope) Fastenau died Sept 6, 2008 at Goldenrod Manor, Clarinda, Iowa at the age of 98. She was born Aug 22, 1910 to John H. and Anna (Herzberg) Rope.
Wilma was educated in rural schools and Immanuel Lutheran School. She graduated from Clarinda High School in 1929.
She worked a short time as a telephone operator until she married Arnold Frank Fastenau on Aug 12, 1934 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clarinda.
Wilma was a charter member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Villisca, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; brothers Ott Rope and wife Wilma and Albert Rope and wife Adeline.
Wilma is survived by her son, Robert Fastenau and wife Judy of Clarinda, Iowa and daughter, Phyllis Smith and husband Francis of Savannah, Missouri; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 Tuesday, Sept 9, 2008 at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerome Wagoner of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Villisca, officiating. Family visitation will be held Monday 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or St. John Radio Tape Ministry.

Fearnot, Rena "Pauline" Schrodt - Funeral services for Pauline Fearnot, age 60 of Kenesaw, Nebraska, formerly of Bedford, who died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Hastings, Nebraska were held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Bedford. Rena Pauline (Schrodt) Fearnot was born July 1, 1947, in Clarinda, Iowa the daughter of Lewis Charles Schrodt and Evelyn Lorraine (Harris) Schrodt. Pauline grew up in Bedford attending school. She met Dale Fearnot at a Christmas party and the couple was united in marriage on July 7, 1963 at the United Missionary Church in Bedford. Two children were born to bless their lives, Donald and Paula. The family lived in Bedford until 1966 when they moved to Colorado where they started their own roofing business. Pauline would help Dale on some of the jobs along with doing all the bookkeeping. She went to work for the Colorado State University in the Food Service Department, eventually working her way up to the level of Accounting Tech IV. She later moved into the Biochemistry Department as an Accountant. Pauline and Dale semi-retired in 1995, moving to Kenesaw, Nebraska where she worked for Terry’s Electric, finishing her working career at Phoenix Casting & Machining, where she was still employed at the time of her death.
Pauline and Dale also owned numerous homes in Bedford they rented out to the residents of the community. Maintaining the homes kept the two of them active in the Bedford Community and Pauline close to the family living here. Throughout the years, Pauline enjoyed working side-by-side with Dale in their businesses. Pauline loved being active in her kid’s lives, having served as a Den Mother in the Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls. She received the Bronze Big Horn Award for Boy Scouts and the Shaunaquois Award for Camp Fire Girls. Pauline possessed an ‘entrepreneurial spirit’; having a side business she called “Fancy Fabric Gifts” where she made picture frames, book covers and many other items. She and Dale tried to live each day and to make the most of each one. They lived with no regrets about things not done. They worked and lived together all of their lives. Her two biggest passions were running her cottages and being around family and friends, especially her grandkids. Over the years, Pauline attended the Missionary Church and later the Nazarene Church and was also a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution.
Left to cherish Pauline’s memory is her loving husband of 45 years, Dale Fearnot of Kenesaw, Nebraska; two children, Donald Fearnot of Fort Morgan, Colorado; and Paula Pelkey of Bedford; two brothers, Lewis (Bud) Schrodt and wife Brenda of Clearmont, Missouri; and John Schrodt and wife Stephanie of Bedford; six sisters, Scharry Hipsley and husband Mike of Bedford; Phyllis Barrett of Bedford; Karen Herzberg and husband Everett of Emerson; Kay dukes and husband Leroy of Bedford; Cindy Croson of Bedford; Janice Campbell of Bedford; three grandchildren, Whitney, Shannadon and Katelynn Fearnot; along with many many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Fecher, Marilyn Ruth Mobley - Marilyn passed away on Friday afternoon, April 2, 2010 at Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah. Services are pending at this time
Marilyn Ruth Fecher was born July 26, 1931 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Thora (Swanson) Mobley. She passed away on Friday afternoon, April 2, 2010 at Gardenview Care Center at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 7 days.
Marilyn grew up in Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School. Following high school she stayed home and cared for her mother and father. On May 26, 1976, she was united in marriage to Donald Fecher at the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah.
Marilyn worked in the office of Earl May for many years. She had a love for reading. Her true joy was going to the Bricker Senior Center and playing pool.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Thora Mobley; her step-mother, Agnes Mobley; her husband, Donald Fecher; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Jaeckel.
Survivors include an aunt, Mae Mobley of Shenandoah, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Rosa Jaeckel of Shenandoah, Iowa, Irene Wallen of Fremont, Nebraska, Lois Comstock of Phoenix, Arizona; special friend, Harold Tait of Red Oak, Iowa; along with many other relatives and friends.

Felker, Donna Lee Williamson - Donna Lee Felker, daughter of Floyd C. and Maude Stanley Williamson, was born on January 28, 1923 in Nemeha County, Kansas and was one of five children. She graduated from Mayetta Kansas High School in 1940 and began working as a domestic and as a store clerk in Holton, Kansas.
On January 3, 1942, Donna was united in marriage to Oliver Charles Felker in Emporia, Kansas. To this union four children were born: Virginia, Patricia, David, and Joyce. After their wedding, Donna and Oliver lived in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. After moving to several other Nebraska communities, they moved to Avoca, Iowa in 1958, which was home for forty-four years, and continued to farm and raise cattle. They moved to the Clarinda, Iowa area in 2002 when Oliver’s health made it necessary for them to leave the farm.
Donna was always interested in homemaking, and enjoyed reading, sewing, and crafts. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women’s Group, Eastern Star, Women’s Federated Club, Craft Club, the Neighborhood Card Club, and was a past 4-H leader. She had many interests including flowers, gardening, and collecting Porcelain Dolls, cups and saucers, birds and bird plates. Later in life, Donna enjoyed Bible study groups and listening to music. She loved her Maker, Church, friends and was happiest when the family was together on any occasion. Those who knew and loved her will miss her.
Donna died on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Goldenrod Manor in Clarinda, Iowa, having attained the age of eight-five years, six months, and twenty-two days. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oliver, of sixty-one years; her son David Lee; her grandson Daniel Chadwell; her great-granddaughter Alexie Webb; her brothers: Stanley, Floyd, and Kenneth Williamson; her sister Aileen McBride; and her son-in-law James E. Shiffer.
She is survived by her three daughters Virginia and her husband Harold Chadwell of Columbus, Nebraska; Patricia and her husband Donald Schnitker of Clarinda, Iowa; and Joyce Shiffer and her husband Gary Van Horn of Oakland, Iowa; four grandchildren: Ann Schnitker Webb, Donnie Schnitker, Katie Chadwell, and James Derek Shiffer; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews other family members and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, Iowa with Kris Davies officiating the 10:00 a.m. service. Burial was held at Sabetha City Cemetery in Sabetha, Kansas at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Serving as honorary casket bearers were: Curt Webb, Gary Van Horn, James Shiffer, Donnie Schnitker, Harold Chadwell, and Donald Schnitker.

Fender, Ruth Lucille Kiper - Ruth Lucille Fender, daughter of Albert and Ethel (Hall) Kiper, was born on October 25, 1922, in Clarinda, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa, at the age of 86.
Most of her childhood and early adult life was spent on the family farm outside of Clarinda near Shambaugh. Ruth received her education in the Shambaugh school system. In 1944, she spent a year at CEI (the Chicago Evangelistic Institute).
On February 4, 1951, Ruth was united in marriage to the love of her life, Wayne Fender, in Shenandoah. Following their marriage they resided in Shenandoah. To this union four children were born, Marvin, Gene, Arlene and John.
For most of her life, Ruth’s most important role was as a wife and mother to her husband and children. She worked for Lewis Cleaners in the late 40’s, the Donut Stop from the late 70’s to the mid 80’s. Ruth was a charter member of the Shenandoah Church of the Nazarene, having served as Missionary President, church board member, and as a Sunday School teacher. Some of Ruth’s interests were crocheting, sewing, gardening and collecting salt and pepper shakers. Most of all she enjoyed keeping in touch with her children and grandchildren as well as her extended family.
Preceding Ruth in death were her parents; husband, Wayne Fender; four brothers, Wilbert, Arthur, Delbert and Lysle Kiper; and three sisters, Pauline Kiper, Frances Kiper and Violet Beery.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Marvin Fender and wife Carol of Casper, WY., Gene Fender and wife Sheri of Loveland, CO., Arlene Fender of Bonner Springs, KS, and John A. Fender and wife Jennifer of Des Moines, IA; 10 grandchildren and step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa with Pastor Trevor Skalberg officiating. Attending to the memorial register was Marita Horn. Special music for the service was provided by Gene Fender. Special recorded music included "In The Garden", "I Can Only Imagine" and "Untitled Hymn". Casket Bearers included Henry Fender, Curtis Hilding, S.T. Taylor, John Fender, Gene Fender and Marvin Fender. Burial followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. S.T. Taylor conducting the graveside services.

Fichter, Allen E. - Allen E. Fichter, age 79, of Farragut, Iowa,and formerly from the Imogene, Iowa area, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2005, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Shenandoah.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Fichter of Farragut; children, Richard Fichter and friend Sue of Council Bluffs, Iowa, David Fichter and wife, Lisa of Hudson, Iowa, Holly Benedict of Farragut, Iowa and Tom Fichter and wife, Terry, of Shenandoah; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Fichter, Cary Ayeleene Boykin - Cary Ayeleene Fichter, age 75, passed away April 24, 2008 at her home near Randolph, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 27, 1932 on a dairy farm near Bastrop, Louisiana to Henry and Suzie (Brown) Boykin. She was raised and educated in Bastrop. She attended college at Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1955, Ayeleene moved to live with her sister Sarah in Sidney, Iowa, where she met Albert Corby Fichter, Jr.
Ayeleene and Corby Fichter, Jr. were married December 18, 1955, in the Shenandoah United Methodist Church. They lived in Fremont County near Randolph, Iowa, and raised a family together. She worked at various jobs over the years, but her most fulfilling role was caretaker of her family. She volunteered her as 4-H leader, Sunday School teacher, and Farm Bureau secretary. Ayeleene was also a member of the Randolph United Methodist Women and Birthday Club. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, completing crossword puzzles and baking for her grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she thanked her husband and God for having that privilege.
Ayeleene was preceded in death by her parents and her infant brothers Carol Neal and Harold Omar, her sister Virginia Ford, and her brother Cecil Boykin. She is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Albert Corby Fichter, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Corby III and Jean Fichter of Essex, IA; daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Raleigh Rubenking of Norwalk, IA, Melanie and Todd Dial of Shenandoah, IA, Amy Fichter of Menomonie, WI, and Allyson and Mike Forney of Tabor, IA; grandsons and granddaughters, Adam, Austin and Heidi Fichter, Benjamin, Craig and Anada Rubenking, Nicholas and Megan Dial, Simon Pagona and Maria and Baby Boy Forney; her siblings and in-laws, John Boykin, Sarah Boykin, Elizabeth and J. C. Lewis, Edward (Pete) and Phyllis Boykin and Rosemary Fichter; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and loving friends.

Fichter, Rosemary - Rosemary Fichter, 81, died Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009, at Garden View Care Center, Shenandoah, Iowa.
Born November 17, 1928, to Lillian and Albert Corby Fichter, Sr., Rosemary went to college at Colorado’s Women’s College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She also graduated with a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and then went to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo for her sixth year program.
Rosemary taught English and Social Studies in the high school at Kilgore, Nebraska and then at Shenandoah Junior High. She became the librarian at Shenandoah High School. She worked at Military Dependents Schools in France and Germany as a librarian. She finally worked in Denver Public Schools as a librarian.
She retired early to care for her parents in Shenandoah where she became very involved in the community. She was active in P.E.O., the Mentor Club, the Book Club, Shenandoah’s Women’s Service Club, DAR, and the United Methodist Church. Rosemary enjoyed reading, traveling all over the world, playing the piano, doing puzzles, and knitting. She enjoyed being an aunt to her nieces and nephews as well as to her grandnieces and grandnephews. Rosemary is survived by her only brother, Albert Corby Fichter, Jr.

Fidler, Rose Marie Thompson - Rose Marie Fidler was born January 10, 1935 east of Clarinda to William Owen Thompson and Mary Marie (Eberly) Thompson. She graduated from Clarinda High School in 1953. Rose was united in marriage to Eddie Fidler July 23, 1954 at the Open Bible Church (currently the Church of God) in Clarinda. Immediately the couple moved to El Paso, Texas where Eddie served in the U.S. Army. After Eddie completed his service they moved to Shenandoah for a short time, Sept 1956 to May 1957, when Eddie purchased a TV shop in Bedford. In 1959 Eddie was called to be a minister and he attended Open Bible College in Des Moines. They served in Des Moines, Iowa, St. Joseph, Missouri, Centerville, Iowa, and finally in Clarinda in 1975 and have served Clarinda for the last thirty four years. Since 1975 Rose has served as a bookkeeper for area businesses, EMT for the Clarinda Ambulance and her best job was as a wife, mother, grandmother. She enjoyed yard sales, flowers and vegetable gardening, cooking in “Rosie’s Diner” at her home serving all the family on Sunday dinner.
She is survived by husband Eddie Fidler of Clarinda; daughter, Evelyn Gibson and husband Mike of Clarinda; sons Bill Fidler and wife Lepha of Hawleyville; Jason Fidler of Hawleyville; brother Dean Thompson of Shambaugh,IA and sister Edna McKowen and husband Leo of Florida.
Services were held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Hawleyville Cemetery, Hawleyville, Iowa with Reverends Eddie Fidler and Mike Gibson officiating. Music was provided by grandsons Doug, William and Justin Fidler. Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel provided arrangements.

Fienup, Darrell F. - Darrell F. Fienup, age 82 of East Lansing, Michigan passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 after a courageous bout with cancer. Darrell was born on May 20, 1926 in Shenandoah, Iowa; the son of Charles and Sophia (Fischer) Fienup.
Darrell attended school and graduated from Shenandoah High School at the age of 16, with the Class of 1942. He earned his Bachelors Degree from Iowa State University, his Masters Degree from Montana State University and his Ph.D from the University of Wisconsin. Education was an important part of Darrell’s life and his quest for knowledge never ceased.
Darrell, in all senses was a true “Stewart of the Land”. Darrell held faculty positions at the University of Kentucky and the University of Minnesota. While there he accepted an offer to be part of a University/Ford Foundation project in Argentina, South America where he and his family resided for seven years. In 1973 he joined the Michigan State University faculty and in 1975 joined the MSU project in Brazil to do further work in Agriculture Development. His international work continued through MSU in Nepal and later with the Kellogg Foundation/MSU in Africa, India, Thailand, Japan and Latin America.
Retirement provided time to do conservation projects on his farms in Iowa as well as continuing his interests of farming. Darrell was always ready for a round of golf, another Elderhostel or yet another interesting place in the world to explore. He was also a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Gretchen Anne, a son Scott, brother Donald and sister-in-law Phyllis.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 58 years Ruth; son Gregg Fienup and wife Lea; daughter Sherrie Gould; eight grandchildren: Jeff Fienup and wife Lori, Michelle Fienup, Gabriel Fienup and wife Melissa, Jessica Fienup and fiancé Billy, Jacob Fienup, Vanessa Gould, Ryan Gould and Trevor Gould; great-granddaughters Sophia and Ava; niece Nancy Berning and husband Steve; nephew Steve Fienup, other family and a host of friends.

Fink, Gary Preston, Sr - Gary Preston Fink, Sr. was born June 24, 1938 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Floyd Preston and Dorothy Helen (Thompson) Fink. He passed away on Wednesday evening, February 20, 2008 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, following a battle with cancer.
Gary grew up in the Council Bluffs area and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1955. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959 during the Korean Conflict. On April 15, 1961, he was married to Billie Ann Rupp in Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Sharon, Gary, Jr., and Dewayne.
Gary was a truck driver all of his life. He drove for the Essex Elevator, Heartland Express and Ag Pro. He had been a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Eagles in Shenandoah and the Essex American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his father; his wife; infant son Ricky; and nephew, Mike Lockwood.
Survivors include his children, Sharon Foote and her husband Jerry of Stanton, Iowa, Gary Fink, Jr. and his wife Barb of Marshall, Missouri; his mother, Dorothy Fink of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Richard Fink of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; two sisters, Joyce Franks and her husband Steve of Dallas, Texas, Beverly Lockwood and her husband Dewayne of Council Bluffs, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Foote, Elisha Foote, Joshua Fink and his wife Tonia, Brianna Fink; great grandson, Bron Fink; mother-in-law, Loraine Foucht of Shenandoah; brothers-in-law, Jerry Rupp and John Rupp of Shenandoah; sisters-in-law, Iris McAnly of Red Oak and Iona Allen of Corning, Iowa; special friend, Pat Freer, Dave Bartles and Pat’s children, Patrick, Angie and Missy; along with many other relatives and friends.

Finlay, Wanda Lee Searl - Wanda Lee (Searl) Finlay was born on May 15, 1923 in Coin, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Blanch (Arnold) Searl. Wanda went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah.
Wanda was one of six children who grew up in the Coin area. On March 2, 1942 she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Finlay and to this union five children were born; Rosalie, Karen Kathleen who died in infancy, Jacquelan, Robert, and Dan.
Wanda and Bob farmed for many years. She also worked hanging wallpaper until her health declined. She was a member of the Summit United Methodist Church in rural Shenandoah. Wanda enjoyed her time singing in the choir and music brought her much joy.
Those welcoming her into heaven are her beloved husband Bob who passed away in 1983, her daughters Karen and Rosalie, parents, three brothers Charles, Richard, and Marion and two sisters Frances and Marjorie.
Those left to honor her memory include her children Jackie Gleason and husband Kenneth of Essex, IA, Daniel Finlay and wife Debra and Robert Finlay all of Shenandoah; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Evelyn Elaine Finley was born on November 3, 1919 in Northboro, Iowa, the daughter of William and Lillie Lois (Peterson) Gell. Elaine entered into eternal peace on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah.
Elaine spent her early years in the Shenandoah and Northboro area. She attended school in Northboro and graduated from Northboro High School with the Class of 1937. On September 20, 1939 she was united in marriage to Duane Finley in Omaha, Nebraska.
During her working years she was employed as a nurses aide at Grape Community Hospital for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Northboro, the United Methodist Women, and the Neighborhood Club. Some of her interests included shopping, visiting with family and friends, and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duane, and three brothers Elmer, Elton, and Everette.

Fisher, Bertha Leona Lindberg - Bertha Leona Lindberg Fisher, was born to Carl and Matilda Nelson Lindberg in Page County near Hawleyville on August 23, 1906 and died June 2, 2003, at Elm Heights Care Center. bertha attended country school as Vernon, her future husband, until the fifth grade. The family then moved to Villisca where she graduated from high school in 1926. She taught country school for a number of years. On April 15, 1934, she married Vernon E. Fisher at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. They lived in
Shenandoah all their married life. She helped Vernon in his insurance and income tax business. She joined the Shenandoah Methodist Church and was a faithful member belonging to many circles. She was a member of Altrusa and was treasurer for many years. Her big enjoyment the last two years was when Jamison Levi Detrick would visit. He was active and loved to entertain her. She was a great cook with salads being her specialty. She always kept in touch with family members, eager to know about each and everyone. In 1981 she broke her hip and from that time on was confined to her home until she and Vernon went to Elm Heights to live. Being blind the last 18 years didn't stop her from keeping up with local and world news. Preceding Bertha in death were her parents, husband Vernon in April 2001; sisters, Martha Taylor and Mary Pierce; half-sister, Hulda Mulnix; brothers, Elmer, George, Carl and Paul. Survivors include a sister-in-law Lorena Lindberg Oltman of Villisca, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Fisher, Pamela Rae Still - Pamela Rae Fisher, age 54, the daughter of James and Lois (Swanson) Still was born April 27, 1952, in Red Oak, Iowa, and passed away May 29, 2006, in Aurora, Colorado. As a young girl Pam spent time growing up in the Villisca, Essex, and Shenandoah, Iowa areas, graduating from Shenandoah High School in 1970.
Pam began her business career in 1970 with U.S. West/Qwest and was associated with them for 34 years. There she was a member of Qwest Pioneers.
On June 18, 1988, in her parent’s backyard in Shenandoah, Pam was united in marriage to Tim Fisher and to this union, a son, Daniel was born. They first resided in Tucson, Arizona, and later in Aurora, Colorado. She loved animals, especially horses. It was often said that Pam wouldn’t hurt the smallest of creatures, not even a fly.
Preceding Pam in death was her father, James Still.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Fisher of Aurora; son, Daniel Fisher of Aurora; stepdaughter, Lindsey; and a special grandson, Logan of Aurora; mother, Lois Still of Shenandoah; brother, Jeffrey Still of Shenandoah; sister, Jennifer Smidt and husband, Bruce, of Casper, Wyoming; brother, Michael Still and wife, Leslie of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Lisa Crandall and husband Gary of Casper; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many, many friends.
Memorial services were held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2006, at the Fairmount Little Ivy Chapel in Denver, Colorado. Reverend Bill Lower officiated; organist was Jim Ewart; and soloist was Ron Seggerman who sang The Old Rugged Cross, Impossible Dreams and In The Garden. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Fisher, Ronald Lee - Ronald Lee Fisher, the son of Roscoe A. and Lena F. (Meyers) Fisher, was born December 31, 1934, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and passed away June 22, 2003, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
Growing up in Hancock, Iowa, Ron received his education in the Hancock school system graduating in 1953. After high school, he worked for a few years on the Rock Island Rail Road as a lineman. On November 24, 1956, Ron was united in marriage to Elaine Hajek and to this union, Robin, Blaine, Justin and Clay were born. After their marriage, Ron joined the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Germany. After his discharge in 1959, he returned to work again as a lineman in Utah, and then for Northwestern Bell in Atlantic, Iowa and then Shenandoah, Iowa in 1961. In 1967 Ron began farming in the Shenandoah area until 1992 at which time he became an over the road truck driver.
Ron was known as a gentle but strong man, who enjoyed the “outdoors” and the companionship of his German Shepherd dogs. Some of his favorite pastimes were playing cribbage, reading western novels and watching John Wayne movies.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Roscoe and Lena Fisher. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Fisher of Shenandoah; children, Robin Hansell and husband, Jeff, of Overbrook, Kansas, Blaine Fisher of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Justin Fisher and wife, Ruth, of Shenandoah and Clay Fisher and wife, Kim, of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Raquel and Austin Hansell, Heather, Shayna, Rachel, Amanda and Quinton Fisher, plus other relatives and friends.

Fletcher, Donald Erving - Donald Erving Fletcher was born July 1, 1959 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Mike M. and Thelma O. (Baughman) Fletcher. He passed away suddenly on Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2008 at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah and the age of 49 years, 1 month and 16 days.
Don grew up in Clarinda and graduated from Clarinda High School in 1977. Following high school, he served his country in the National Guard. On October 13, 1978, Don married Marlene Ballain at the First Christian Church in Shenandoah. This union was blessed with two children, Michael and Summer.
Don worked several jobs. He worked the draft horses for Nelson Crowe. He had worked for Mt. Arbor Nursery, Warren Construction and then at Farm Master until the plant closed. He then spent a short time in Kansas before returning to Iowa to work for Oakland Beef, Wynn Fertilizer, Nishna Productions, D & L in Red Oak, Wal-Mart and most recently he was employed by Eaton Corporation. Don also spent a couple summers in Arkansas where he worked on river barges. He loved hunting, fishing and bowling. Most of all he enjoyed children.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melford Leroy at birth; a sister-in-law, Jodi Matheny; aunts and uncles J.W. and Maudie Fletcher, Birdell Slaughter, Jean and George Cain, Louis and Flora Mae Madole.

Fletcher, William Lee - William Lee Fletcher was born in Taylor County, Iowa near Siam on April 1, 1939, the son of Wilbur Remind and Eathel Nevela (Fleming) Fletcher. Bill grew up in the New Market, Iowa area where he attended schools. Bill passed away January 23, 2009 at the Red Oak Hospital.
After his formal schooling, he worked for the Shorty McCoy farm for several years. He was married to Linda Sparks for fourteen years. Bill drove for the Peerless Laundry route for ten years. In April of 1975, he started work at NSK, where he remained until retiring in August 2002.
He and companion Kathy Solt Racine had lived in Villisca for twenty five years. Most recently Bill had lived in Villisca, with his special friend Pat Reynolds, for the past three years. Bill liked the farm all of his life and was especially fond of horses.
Surviving are his daughter, Heather (Solt) Orr and husband Glenn of Creston; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Hallie, Jenna, and Brett; one sister, Ona Wyleen Thompson and husband Max of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and nieces and nephews; Joyce Larson and husband Lyndal of New Market, Iowa, Vickie Crosby and husband Rex of Clarinda, Iowa, Lisa Foster and husband Dusty of Shambaugh, Iowa, and Ronnie Fletcher and wife Kelly of Villisca, Iowa; several grand nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother Carl Fletcher; and one sister, Barbara Moses.

Flores de Mendez, Nelida "Nelly" - Nélida “Nelly” Flores de Méndez, 29, of Shenandoah, died January 31, 2003, in an automobile accident on Highway 2 close to Waubonsie State Park. She was born November 25, 1973, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ramón Flores and Fidela Avitia de Flores. She grew up in Parral, Chihuahua, where she attended and graduated from secondary school. She married Edgar Tomás Méndez in February, 1992. Nelly and her family moved to Shenandoah in 1999. She worked at Excel in Nebraska City. Nelly was a member of the Catholic Church and she also participated in the Community of Christ as well as the Fremont Lutheran Church. Nelly was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Edgar Tomás Méndez of Shenandoah; children Nélida Itzel Méndez Flores, Edgar Josué Méndez Flores, and Adriana Jaquelín Méndez Flores; sisters Velia Flores Avitia of Shenandoah and Margarita Flores Avitia of Parral, Chihuahua; brothers Ramón Flores Avitia and Manuel Flores Avitia, both of Parral, Chihuahua. Nelly loved Tomás Méndez Cerna and Adela Angel de Méndez, her in-laws, as if they were her parents. She felt support and care from her godmother, Leticia Ruíz, and from her godfather, Carlos Ruíz. She felt especially close to her uncle Moisés Flores and appreciated the love and support he consistently gave her. She also loved Jeannine and Ernie Liljedahl, her children’s mentors, for their support and help. She had many friends in the community and in her work. Nelly was a strong proponent of education, especially in regards to her children. She loved her children very much and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a good wife and worked very hard at home. Nelly will be remembered for her strong faith and trust in God, as well as her energy and enthusiasm for life. All of us who were privileged to know Nelly were touched by her life and we treasure those memories of Nelly that we carry in our hearts.

Flynn, Cecil Gene - Cecil Gene Flynn, son of William Charles Flynn, Jr. and Lillie Inez (Maltsberger) Flynn, was born on August 27, 1928, on a farm near Essex, Iowa. He was the youngest of thirteen children. He passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2007, at the Shenandoah Medical Center following a brief illness at the age of 79.
At a young age, Cecil moved with his family to Shenandoah and received his education from the Shenandoah Community Schools. As a young man Cecil helped his mother with the income he received working at the nurseries. On November 29, 1946, Cecil was united in marriage to Emma Maxine Smith at Hiawatha, Kansas. Following their marriage they made their home with his mother. To this union were born four children, Michael Gene, Sharon Kay, Patrick Vernon and Danny Keith.
When he began working full-time, he worked for Scharp Sanitation then Gerald Youngberg Implement and Saunders Dairy. In 1950 he had a serious back operation but against doctor’s orders continued to work for the Stevens Brothers oiling roads. In April of 1955 he began working for Nishna Valley Lumber Co. and put in over 40 years there before eventually retiring from Miller Building Supply after six years. Cecil was very good with carpentry work and hauled many loads of lumber over the years. In the winter he cleared snow from driveways while working at the lumberyard. Very much an outdoors person, Cecil enjoyed mowing lawns in the summer and proudly kept his grass perfectly clipped. In addition to working at the lumberyard, he hauled livestock for the Stevens Brothers from time to time and was a member of the Shenandoah Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his garage shop. During his middle aged years he liked to ride his horse Goldie and was active in the Nishna Valley Saddle Club. He claimed to be the #1 Nebraska Cornhusker football fan. Proof of this was his dog named “Husker”. He was endeared to his grandchildren by all the $2 bills he loved to give them.
Preceding Cecil in death were his parents; two infant siblings; four sisters, Alice Scharp, Lois Stake, Mabel Meads and Bessie Reed; three brothers, Russel, Willard and Willis Flynn. He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Maxine of Shenandoah; sons, Michael Gene and Patrick Vernon, both of Shenandoah and Danny Keith Flynn of Clive, IA; daughter, Sharon Kaye Riley and her husband Jerry of Parsons, KS; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Wallace Flynn of Shenandoah; two sisters, Hazel Blakeley of Centennial, CO, and Audrey Flynn of Omaha, NE; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held from the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Words of Comfort were given by Rev. Jack Langley. Musical selections included "Amazing Grace", "Long, Black Train", "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", and "You Lift Me Up". Casket Bearers were Pat Riley, Chad McClintock, Mark Flynn, Jake Cowden, Jerry Scharp, Alan Stogdill, Ivan Flynn, and Jason Heard. Honorary Casket Bearers were Bill Sharp, Harold Rowan, Jack Stake, Willard Skinner, Wayne Briggs, Calvin Carpenter, Raymond Herold, Eldon Bartles, and Rawson Stevens. The Memory Register was attended by Marjorie Scharp, Phyllis Rowan, Marlene McLaren, and Marci Riley. Caring for flowers were Carolyn West, Nancy Heard, Donna Rae Morey, Deloris Carlson, Mary Preston, Jody Blakeley, and Lorilee Branting. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers, are being directed to the Blind Children's Learning Center (BCLC) in Honor of Nora E. Flynn.

Flynn, Emma Maxine Smith - Emma Maxine (Smith) Flynn was born on February 22, 1926 in Maitland, Missouri. She was the first child born to Vernon T. and Anna Blanche (McKinney) Smith. She lost her courageous battle with cancer, but won eternal peace with God on January 2, 2010.
Maxine’s parents moved to Northboro, IA when she was five months old. Her father owned a garage and gas station. Maxine graduated from Northboro High School with the Class of 1943. During her high school years she played basketball, and especially enjoyed the band and chorus. She joined the Methodist Church in Northboro.
Maxine was united in marriage to Cecil Flynn in Hiawatha, KS on November 29, 1946. She worked for Henry Field Seed & Nursery in the office and in 1966, she began working at Nishna Valley Lumber Company, as a bookkeeper. She later retired and provided child care from her home. She had fond memories of teaching Sunday School at Memorial Baptist Church in Shenandoah and later joined the Nishna Valley Christian Church, where she was blessed with many new friends. She loved to praise God through her music.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Cecil, son Patrick Flynn, her parents, a loving mother-in-law Lillie Flynn, a brother Lawrence “Bud” Smith, a sister Mary Smith, numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, and nieces Beverly Almquist, Nancy Heard, and Kristie Rasmussen.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Michael Flynn of Shenandoah and Danny Flynn of Des Moines, IA; a daughter Sharon Riley and husband Jerry of Pittsburg, KS; a sister Wanda Rasmussen of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Amy McClintock and husband Chad, Shawn Flynn and wife Heather, Patrick Riley and wife Marcie, Mark Flynn, Emily Valquier, Joseph Riley, Natalie Rockwell and husband Tim, Kerry Riley, Jennifer Flynn, and Nick Flynn; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Flynn, Patrick Vernon - Patrick Vernon Flynn, son of Cecil Gene and Emma Maxine (Smith) Flynn, was born on December 2, 1952 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He entered into eternal peace on Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Shenandoah Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Pat spent most of his years in the Shenandoah area. He attended the Shenandoah Schools and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1971. He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Jones on December 2, 1972 and to this union two daughters; Amy and Emily were born. The couple later divorced.
Following high school, Pat worked at the Nishna Valley Lumber Company. He later went to work for Eaton Corporation where he was employed for 35 years. One of Pat's greatest accomplishments was having 28 years of perfect attendance while working for Eaton's. He was devoted to his job and enjoyed the many friendships that he made while working there. Other passions of Pat's included fishing, supporting the Oklahoma Sooners and the Minnesota Vikings, having coffee with friends, going to the casino, and collecting everything from hats, old china, stein mugs, and antique bottles. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed being a part of the bowling league for 22 years. His greatest love was for his family, especially his grandkids. Pat was also a great friend and a wonderful and caring father.

Franks, Howard Ralph - Howard Ralph Franks, son of Sidney and Stella (Elliott) Franks, was born on October 25, 1921, in Essex, Iowa. He passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Howard lived all his life in the Essex area. He received his education from the Essex Community Schools. On March 19, 1940, Howard enlisted into the U. S. Navy and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on March 19, 1946. Howard was united in marriage to Janice Marie Bengtson on August 16, 1945, at Clarinda, Iowa. Following their marriage they lived in Coburg, Iowa before moving to the present farm two miles north of Essex. Howard was a farmer all of his life. He milked cows and also drove a truck for Johnson Brother’s Elevator and the Essex Elevator. He also helped shell corn and drive truck for Jack Franks. Howard enjoyed fishing and riding his four-wheeler.
Preceding Howard in death were his wife, Janice Marie Franks, in July of 1998; parents, Sidney and Stella Franks; seven brothers; one sister; and a half-sister. Survivors include his children, Randy Franks and his wife Brenda, Sally Moore and her husband Gerry, Danny Franks and his wife Carol, Billy Franks and his wife Betty, and Scott Franks and his wife Mary, all of Essex, Iowa; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Words of comfort were given by the Rev. Rick Sleyster. Interment was in the Essex Cemetery.

Franks, Lelia Marie Brown - Lelia Marie Franks, age 80, the daughter of William “Bill” and Lillian “Lillie” (Jones) Brown was born February 16, 1926, at Shenandoah, Iowa, and passed away August 1, 2006, in Shenandoah.
Growing up in Shenandoah Lelia received her education from the Shenandoah school system. In 1943 she was united in marriage with Bobby Dean Franks, and to this marriage a daughter, Pam, and a son, Bobby Dean, Jr. was born.
For many years Lelia worked various jobs at Henry Field Seed and Nursery Company. She was a past member of the Eagle’s Club. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling and fishing with her family and friends in Canada plus RV camping. She was a devoted wife and mother with a great “love of family”, who were most important to her. She was known for her concern for others, often checking on and spending time with those who needed her care.
Preceding Lelia in death were her parents; husband; sister, Eva Miller; and infant granddaughter, Jennifer Hannah.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and John Hannah of Columbus, Nebraska; son, Bobby Franks, Jr. of Essex, Iowa; sisters, Deanie Whitehill of Shenandoah and Velesta Reavis and husband, Maury, of Shenandoah.. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ben Hannah of Bellevue, Nebraska, Carli Franks of Chicago, Illinois, and Candice Franks of Shenandoah; plus numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice.

Franzen, Martha Arlene Whigham - On July 13, 1931 a daughter, Martha Arlene was born to Clarence M. and Bessie M. (Little) Whigham at the family home near Blanchard, Iowa. Martha entered to eternal peace on Sunday; November 2, 2008 at the Western Homes Communities Care Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
She was baptized on March 26, 1938 in the College Springs United Presbyterian Church and became a member there on April 19, 1946. Martha attended Pleasant Hill school and graduated from Amity High School in College Springs in 1950. She graduated from the Research Hospital School of Nursing program in Kansas City, MO in 1953 as a registered nurse.
She was united in marriage to Glenn Franzen at home near Blanchard, IA on May 24, 1953. The couple was later blessed with four sons: Jeff, Larry, Greg, and Keith. The family resided for many years on the family farm 10 miles east of Shenandoah. In 1985 they moved into Shenandoah until 2004. During their time in Southwest Iowa the family were active members of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Martha spent the past few years in Waverly and Cedar Falls, IA.
Martha received much joy and touched the lives of countless children, nieces, nephews, friends, acquaintances, strangers, and her own children and grandchildren. These children and adults will miss Martha greatly.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband Glenn, parents and two brothers, Dean and Howard.

Marilyn Marsden served at the memorial register while Ron Oestmann served as an usher. Gail Wallin sung "Beyond The Sunset" and "In The Garden" while the congregation sung "Amazing Grace", Steve Richardson served as organist. Casket Bearers were Larry Burgett, Travis Whigham, Rod Clark, Garth Van Fosson, Bob Whigham and Dennis Van Fosson. Burial followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Freeman, Margaret Nadgwick - Margaret Nadgwick Freeman was born in Page County, Iowa, on April 7, 1915. She died at the Hospice House in Newton, North Carolina, on June 18, 2009, at the age of 94.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, by her parents Joseph and Vilma Nadgwick, by her infant brother Russell and by her brother Kenneth.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law: Dennis and Rhonda Freeman of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Douglas and Cathy Freeman of Hickory, North Carolina. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Erik of Knoxville, Tennessee; Lindsey of Brooklyn, New York; Emily of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Michael of Apex, North Carolina; Tara of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Gordon of Hickory, North Carolina. She is survived by one great -grandchild, Graham of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
Margaret was a freelance Christian writer throughout her adult life, having published hundreds of stories in Sunday School papers, several years of curricula for Vacation Bible School programs, and a variety of devotional materials. With other family members, she also operated a Christian Bookstore in Shenandoah, Iowa, for more than two decades.
In her later years, she had moved to Hickory, North Carolina, to be closer to her sons.

Freeze, Charlie Morris - Charlie Morris Freeze was born on December 16, 1917 in Barada, Nebraska; the son of Charlie William and Lillie Mae (Mount) Freeze. Morris entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at his home.
The family later moved to Falls City, NE where Morris attended grade school. The family then moved to Ozark, MO and later to Montreal, MO
where Morris also attended school. During his school days, Morris enjoyed playing baseball, and especially enjoyed his position as catcher. During his last year of school Morris worked as the school janitor.
At the age of 12 he was able to help out his family with the harvest season. Morris worked hard to help support for his family. At the
age of 16 he went to work for "CC" Construction Company, building roads. He also served as a firefighter. He fought fires in Missouri as well as Ogden, Utah. Throughout his working days he primarily farmed and during the winter months he worked at the Omaha Meat Packing Plant. Even after retiring he could still be found helping his son, David farm or pumping gas at the Sinclair Gas Station until it closed its doors in April of 2004.
He was united in marriage to Alice Arnold in Rock Port, MO on March 16, 1938. The couple was later blessed with 4 children; Dixie, Eugene, David and Darlene. He enjoyed his family and was always there to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and friends. Some of Morris'interests included playing baseball, gardening, and attending family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, brothers Troy and Rex, a sister Wilma, and daughter-in-law Janis Freeze.

Frey, Walter Curtis "Curt" - Curt Frey, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Villisca and Clarinda, began chemotherapy treatment for leukemia on June 24th, 2009. He faced the disease with courage, hope, and humor, and he died in his sleep on the morning of October 16, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was 67 years of age.
Celebration of Life Services were held Tuesday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Paul Congregational United Church of Christ in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Elizabeth Colton officiating. Visitation will begin Monday at noon at the Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel, and the family were present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ.
Walter Curtis Frey was born March 2, 1942 in Clarinda, Iowa, the first son of Walter Leore and Maxine M. Mace Frey of Nodaway, Iowa. He attended grades one through eleven at the Nodaway Public Schools before graduating from Villisca High School in 1960. After graduation, he worked every summer at the family farm and for the CB&Q railroad to pay for his education. He attended Clarinda Community College for two years, and was accepted into the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls, then known as the State College of Iowa. His teaching degree was awarded in 1965. He completed graduate coursework in history at the University of Northern Colorado during the summers from 1967 until 1969.
Curt dated Shirley Jean Needham his senior year in Villisca, and throughout college; they were married June 6, 1964 at the Advent Christian Church in Villisca. During their first year of marriage, Curt worked on local farms and as a substitute teacher in the Denver, Iowa school district. In 1965, both he and Shirley found teaching positions at Oskaloosa Junior High School, where he taught history and social studies for 33 years, retiring in 1998. During his career, he was a passionate advocate for the public schools, and he devoted his time and talents to improving the welfare of students and teachers in Oskaloosa and across Iowa. He was an active member of OEA/ISEA/NEA, a State Unit Nine officer, and he attended State Delegate Assembly. After retirement, he was active in ISEA/NEA-R and Mahaska county/Iowa Retired School Personnel Association.
Curt was a member of St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ, served often on church boards, and was a Keomah City Councilman for over thirty years. An enthusiastic scholar, a lifetime learner, a historian “par excellence” (so dubbed by a colleague), Curt spent a lifetime reading everything he found in print, viewing documentaries, traveling and visiting historical sites and museums. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching, finding kindred spirits in interests, and visiting with people. He loved his animal friends, had a deep appreciation for the environment, and enjoyed spending time in nature. He could often be found working in the yard, taking care of his home, maintaining the city property of Keomah, or sharing a joke or story with the neighbors.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and their daughter Heidi (and James) Frey of Oshkosh, WI; his sister, Cheryl (and Bob) Lyall of Indianola, IA and their two daughters; his brother, Lyle (and Susan) Frey of Villisca, IA and their two daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Frye, James Fredrick - James Fredrick Frye, 54, son of Charles Edward and Virginia Lee (Tishue) Frye, was born on March 27, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, following a lengthy bout with leukemia.
His early life was spent in the Grand Rapids area. James later moved to the southwest Iowa area. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps Reserve and was called to active duty for a short time at the end of the Vietnam War. On February 16, 1999, James was united in marriage to Paula S. Hebert at Carroll, Iowa. They made their home in Carroll until 2001 when they moved back to the Shenandoah/Essex area. James worked mostly in construction in the Carroll area and was employed by ABC Seamless Siding. Upon moving to Shenandoah he worked as a cook at the Country Inn Restaurant and at the Shenandoah Country Club until his health began to deteriorate. James enjoyed collecting baseball cards and Harley Davidson Motorcycle replicas. He also liked to watch WWF and WWE wrestling.
Preceding James in death were his father and brother, Charles. Survivors include his wife, Paula Frye of Essex, IA; five children; five grandchildren; and mother, Virginia McGargill of Imogene, IA; other relatives and many friends.
As per James' wishes there were no services following cremation. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah was in charge of the arrangements.

Fryer, William D. - William D Fryer died at his home in Clarence, N.Y., on February 16, 2009. William was born on January 16, 1929, in Page County, IA. He was raised in the Page County and Villisca area. He graduated from Villisca High School in 1947. He attended and graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburg and received his Masters from the University of Buffalo.
His career as a whole was that of a Mathematician. At the time of his death, he had returned from Calspan, formerly named Cornell Aeronautical Research Laboratories as their Principal Physicist.
He and his wife, June, had three children; Mark, Nancy and Katherine and six grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his parents, Frank and Elzene Fryer and a sister, Violet Hanson.
Surviving him are his wife, June; son Mark and wife, Sharon; Nancy Hall and husband, Dave; and Katherine Sprouls; six grandchildren: Alyssa , Julie and Jonathan Fryer and Aneal, Marisa and Keara Sprouls; sisters Helen Hess, of Andeluna, AL and Maxine Nelson, of Clarinda, IA.

Fulk, Lora Lea Williams Funeral services for Lora Lea Fulk, age 77 of Clarinda, Iowa, who died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Kavanagh Hospice House, Des Moines, Iowa were held Friday, March 27, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Clarinda, Iowa with Reverend Dennis Shepherd officiating. Visitation with the family was held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 26 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Burial was in the Clarinda Cemetery.
Lora Lea Fulk was born October 20, 1931 in Coin, Iowa, the daughter of Loran Otis Williams and Lois Irene (Irvin) Williams. Lora Lea grew up in the Coin/Northboro area and graduated from Northboro High School. On December 7, 1952, she was united in marriage at Northboro, Iowa to Jimmy Fulk. They were blessed with four children, Joyce, Dale, Alice and Nancy.
Lora Lea worked at Lisle Corporation prior to her marriage. Following her marriage she was devoted to helping her husband with the farming and raising her family. During her life, Lora Lea helped a lot of people through her house cleaning and assistance. She always respected the people that she cared for. Lora Lea was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Together Sunday School Class. Lora Lea helped with all the church dinners. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crossword puzzles. Lora Lea especially enjoyed all of the grandchildren’s activities and according to her family “she made a mean angel food cake”.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jimmy Fulk of Clarinda, Iowa; children, Joyce Whitney and husband Mike of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dale Fulk and wife Vicki of Clarinda, Iowa, Alice Wisner of West Des Moines, Iowa, Nancy McKinnon and husband Mike of Denison, Iowa; grandchildren, Reginald Fulk and wife Marcey, Kalen Fulk, Molly Fulk, Christopher Whitney, Justin Whitney, Mary Wisner, Andrew Wisner, Kourtney McKinnon, Joshua McKinnon; great grandson, Kameron Fulk; step great grandchildren, Essa, Ghadeer and Khalifa Albador; sister, Pauline Hulbert and husband Ken of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, Charles Williams and wife Kay of Ankeny, Iowa, brother and sister–in-law, John and Leona Fulk of Clarinda, Iowa; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Preceding Lora Lea in death were her parents; parents-in-law, Harrel and Gladys Fulk.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Lora Lea will be greatly missed;
her love and inspiration will live on through her family.

Fuller, Mary Elizabeth Peters - Mary Elizabeth (Peters) Fuller, daughter of John Henry and Mayme May Waunetta (Flake) Peters, was born on November 22, 1926, in Shell City, Missouri. She passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 81.
Her early life was spent in Corning, Missouri where she grew up and received her education. Mary later spent time in Shenandoah, Iowa, and the northwest Missouri communities of Fairfax, Rock Port and Craig, before settling in Shenandoah. On February 17, 1946, Mary was united in marriage to Norman H. W. Fuller in Corning, Missouri. Mary worked as a nursery laborer from 1942 through 1946 before taking time to raise her children working as a housewife from 1946 through 1955. When she resumed working outside the house she cooked at the Model Café and Kendall's Café. In 1968 she began cooking for the Tall Corn Motel until her retirement in 1985. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and working jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents; husband, Norman; son, Bruce Fuller; and brothers, Harvey, Cliffford and Ernie Peters. Survivors include her children, Gary and Sue Fuller of Shenandoah, Larry and Marci Fuller of Thayer, MO, Lynnette Fuller of Shenandoah, Marcia and Dean Driskell of Farragut and Tim and Jan Fuller of Shenandoah; 17 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother, Owen Peters of Tarkio, MO; two sisters, Josephine Fuller of Liberty, MO, and Betty Jean Fox of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law, Ella Riley of Essex; brother-in-law, George Fuller of St. Joseph, MO; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. Words of comfort were given by Rev. Claude Westerfield. Vocalist, Glen Sheirbon, was accompanied by Margaret Woods. Musical selections for the service were "Beyond The Sunset" and "Softly And Tenderly". Linda Osterlink and Kathy Ann Fox attended the memory register. Ushers for the service were David Peters and Russell Peters. Caring for flowers were Jeanette Martin, Carolyn Oldham, Trisha Coffman, Becky Roberts, Robin Brannen, Tracy Coltrain, Audrey Little, JoLetta Johnson, Katie Swanson, Amy Zwickel and Shannon Taylor. Honorary casket bearers were all of Mary's close friends. Casket bearers were Greg Fuller, Joshua N. Fuller, Mark Ross, Jeremiah Fuller, Mike Driskell, Bill Fuller and Gary Driskell. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials are being directed to the family. Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Fuller, Norman Henry William - Norman Henry William Fuller, son of Henry and Charlotte (Scheiding) Fuller, was born on April 22, 1921, in Hubbell, Nebraska. He passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008, in Shenandoah, Iowa, at the age of 87.
Growing up, Norman lived in and attended school in both Hubbell, Nebraska and Corning, Missouri. He enlisted in the Army on July 31, 1942. He served until January 1946. On February 17, 1946, Norman was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Peters in Corning, Missouri. After their marriage, the couple resided in Fairfax, Missouri and later moved to Shenandoah, Iowa.
Norman worked as a painter from 1946 to 1948, a farmer from 1948 to 1955, a school custodian from 1956-1961, a truck driver from 1962-1964, a Shenandoah police officer from 1964 to 1966, and a maintenance engineer for the Tall Corn Motel from 1966 to 1983 at which time he retired.
He was a member of Amvets and the Shenandoah First Baptist Church. In his spare time, Norman enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, dancing, cooking and pitching horseshoes.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harvey Fuller; sister, Lorene Fuller and son, Bruce Fuller. Survivors include his wife, Mary Fuller of the home; sister, Ella Riley of Essex; brother, George Fuller of St. Joseph, MO; his children, Gary and Sue Fuller of Shenandoah, Larry and Marci Fuller of Thayer, MO, Lynnette Fuller of Shenandoah, Marcia and Dean Driskell of Farragut and Tim and Jan Fuller of Shenandoah; 17 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; other relatives and many friends.

Funkhouser, Paul - Paul Funkhouser the son of Albert Daniel and Laura Carlene (Metz) Funkhouser was born in a sod house at Wray, Colorado on April 8, 1913 and passed away at Shenandoah, Iowa on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the age of 94.
Paul moved to Shenandoah with his parents at the age of 3, attending school in Shenandoah. He was united in marriage to Verna Cleven on March 22, 1935 at Shenandoah, they celebrated 60 years of marriage before VernaÂ’s death. Paul served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Paul worked for Funkhouser Shell Gas, Baron Oil, Skelly Oil, Ahlgrens Chevrolet, Cambier Chevrolet, and Funkhouser Used Cars.
Paul was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #88, Shenandoah Elks Club for 54 years, Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Department, and the American Legion Color Guard.
Paul enjoyed shuffle board, golf, playing Bridge and other card games. As a car salesman Paul enjoyed driving Cadillacs, Corvettes, and other sports cars.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Verna; son-in-law, Dan Wegener; brothers, George, Orville, Max, John, Raymond, Robert and Albert; sisters, Marguerite, Pauline (twin sister), Darlene, and Marjorie.
Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Thomson and husband John of Williamsport, MD., Judie Wegener of Englewood, CO., Sherry Shearer and husband Kirk of Farragut, IA.; one sister, Betty Livingston Andersen of Shenandoah, IA.; sisters-in-law, Lois Funkhouser of Shenandoah, IA., Mary Louise Funkhouser of Omaha, NE., and Dode Funkhouser Higgens in Arizona; eight grandchildren, Scott Strong and wife Monica of Greencastle, PA., Lisa Mott and husband Steve of Gettysburg, PA., Shelly Strong of Los Angeles, CA., Dan Wegener and wife Sylvia of Littleton, CO., Dave Wegener of Englewood, CO., Doug Wegener and wife Katie of Englewood, CO., Staci Scroggie and husband Mike of Farragut, IA., Jay Shearer and wife Nicole of Waterloo, IA.; eleven great grandchildren, Nicole and Emily Strong, Gage Warren and Marshall Mott, Jessica and Kaitlyn Wegener, Amber Wegener, Hailie and Derek Wegener, Riley and Miranda Scroggie; along with other relatives and friends.
