Court Grants Citizenship to 4 applicants
Judge O.S. Thomas Hears 27 Cases in Two Opening Days of Term
Four Osceola county residents were granted citizenship in
the United States Wednesday of this week in the only action coming
before Judge 0. S. Thomas on the third day of the March term of district
court. Those receiving their naturalization papers following examination
were: Henry Wolters, formerly of Germany, who now lives near Ashton; Mr.
and Mrs. John Brehmer, formerly of Germany now living near Ocheyedan;
and Harm Rook, formerly of Netherlands now living near Ashton.
Twenty-seven cases were considered during the first two days of district
court which opened here Monday morning of this week
with Judge Thomas of Rock Rapids on the bench. The grand jury met and
was adjourned through lack of business requiring immediate action.
Postponement was granted in three cases listed while judgment was
rendered in twenty-four.
Thank you, Marilynne Ocando for submitting this wonderful historical reference to
Osceola County residents!
