Mission Cemetery

"Mission Cemetery is located in Sioux Township 2.5-3 miles west of Moorhead, Iowa on County E-54. It is a small almost unmaintained Cemetery with 5 "known" burials. Occasionally local citizens clean and clear the area. The cemetery is unmarked and difficult to see if one doesn’t know where and what they are looking for. There are only two stones remaining. But there are a few pieces of other stones that cannot be read lying around." ~information submitted by volunteer, Ruth Pickle.
~*~ Updated 3/21/2021 by Family descendant, Penny Rathbun. Thanks to Penny for the detail regarding Chris Larsen & her pictures taken at the remote cemetery location. Penny shared this, "Chris Larsen was such a kind gentle soul. Very generous, I feel like there should be something to show he was buried there. I hate that they are all alone over there. I know there are probably quite a bit more burials without stones. But no family."
