The former was decided in favor of plaintiff and the latter in favor of defendants. In the case of C.R. Blackman vs L. Kessler and John Eads the supreme court reversed the decision which had been in favor of defendants.

Easton, who takes much pride in his fine fowls, attended the national association at Cedar Rapids last week and took with him some of his finest birds and won 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th places with his cockrels, and 3rd, 4th and 5th with his pullets, and 1st breeding pen with his golden wyandots.

Onawa Weekly Democrat 25Jan1900 Albaton News Messrs. Dubois, Polly, Parker, and Easton were in Onawa attending court Friday and Saturday.
Monona County Gazette 25Jan1900 Whiting News O.J. Easton returned Sunday from Cedar Rapids where he had been to attend the big poultry show last week. He says it was a great exhibit, upwards of 3,000 birds were there from all parts of the United States extending east to Maine and west to California. Mr. Easton exhibited 22 birds of the Golden Wyandot breed and feels justly proud of the prizes which these same captured. He got 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th on cockrels; 3rd, 4th and 55h on pullets; 2nd on breeding pen. He dispersed of seven birds ranging from $5 and $15. Mr. Easton prides himself on the high class birds and spares no expense or care in buying and raising them, consequently can l?ctier compete with any of them. He says his trip was a pleasant as well as profitable experience which he would not take a great deal for.
Monona County Gazette 25Jan1900 Moorhead John D. Brett and Miss Petre Stark were united in the holy bonds of matrimony last Saturday at the home of Rev. V.M. Easton. Miss Stark is a very attractive and estimable young lady and respected by all who know her. John is a very progressive young man and has a host of friends.

After the installation was over a banquet was served by the lodge which was enjoyed by the Odd Fellow, their wives, and their friends.

As a deputy he was all that could be desired. His long service in the court house gave him a fine knowledge of the affairs of the county and no more efficient or obliging offical ever did business in the court house.

Charley has sold several hunder head of young stock and feeders along the Maple the past fall and is making a big thing of it. He is fatter and jollier then ever, is reading law and hustling on the side in stock and real estate, and is fast becoming one of the prominent financiers of the county, all of which his host of Ute will be glad to learn.

Monona County Gazette 18Jan1900 Local News Wednesday at the residence of E.E. Bakke and wife a pleasant home wedding occurred when their oldest daughter, Louise A., was married to Rev. Aaron S. Johnson of Sioux Rapids IA. At 6PM the sweet strains of the wedding march played by Jennie Ballard announced the approach of the bride and groom with Agnes Bakke, sister of the bride, as maid of honor and Godfrey Johnson, brother of the groom as best man, took their places in front of the double windows in the west parlor. Rev. C.H. Hjortholm performed the ceremony which was witnessed by 65 of the immediate relatives and intimate friends of the contracting parties. Supper was served by Mrs. Oscar Bakke, assisted by Mrs. Nessle, Emma Andrews, Annie Peterson and Molly Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson left Thursday night for Elbow Lake MN where Mr. Johnson is pastor of the Norwegian church at that place. The following were the out of town guests: A. Gilbertson of Mapleton, Miss Aggie Bakke of Albaton, Mrs. Durman and Mollie Kelly of Whiting, Godfrey and Miss Anna Johnson, H.A. Johnson and wife, Mrs. Amon Johnson, Mrs. J.S. Barstadt and daughter of Sioux Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. B.R. Mickelson of Linn Grove, Mr. and Mrs. M. Christofferson, Thor, A Cyrpeanson of Eau Claire WI, P.A. Fione of Sloan.
