One of Bennett Lee’s best horses took a swim of about 10 miles down a small creek and the Soldier river Sunday during a heavy rain. The horse evidently had fallen into the creek while running and then the heavy rain came and washed it away. He was found near the Perrin farm at Preparation and suffered not too badly for the 19 hours he was in the water.
Word reaches the Sentinel that Martin Foss is serving his third hitch in the navy aboard the USS Detroit at Nicaragua.
Soldier markets had hogs at $10, corn 60c, oats 40c and eggs 20c.
