W. WILSON DEAD
Native
of County Victim of Cancer of Stomach
George
W. Wilson, a native of Marshall county, died at 6 o’clock Sunday morning at the
home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson, 612 Marion street, of cancer
of the stomach, following an illness of six months. He submitted to an
operation at Rochester, Minn., in January.
Mr.
Wilson was born here May 30, 1877, and had made his home here all his life. He
was united in marriage to Miss May Rubar, of Cambridge, Dec. 25, 1902, at
Cambridge. Nine children were born to this union. They are Harry, Edward, Eva,
Ilo, Lydia, Mable, Martha, Manning and Iva, all at home. In addition to the
wife and children and the parents, Mr. Wilson is survived by six sisters and
five brothers. They are Mrs. Otto Kohn, Mrs. Ilo Ankrum, Mrs. Maurice
Harrington, Mrs. Rollie Billman, C.J. Wilson, Paul Wilson, Dewey Wilson and
William Wilson, of this city; Jasper Wilson, Rhodes; Mrs. Ed Morrison,
Waterloo, and Mrs. Lester Wilhite, of Corwith. Mr. Wilson was a member of the
W.O.W. lodge, city.
Funeral
services were held at 2 o’clock this afternoon from the State Street
Evangelical church, in charge of Rev. S.N. Ramige. All the members of the
family, including brothers and sisters from out of the city were in attendance.
The pallbearers, all brothers-in-law, were Otto Kohn, Ilo Ankrum, Maurice
Harrington, Ed Morrison, Rollie Billman and Lester Wilhite. Interment was in
the Marietta cemetery.
