SUDDEN DEATH OF WIFE AND MOTHER
MRS. HELGE LARSON STRICKEN WITH HEART FAILURE AND DIES AT HOME OF NEIGHBOR
The exertion of wading through the snow a few blocks to the house of a neighbor, Mrs. Claus Rasmus, overtaxed the heart of Mrs. Helge Larson, causing her death in a few minutes after she entered the Rasmus home about 7 o'clock last Friday evening. When she stepped inside the Rasmus house, Mrs. Larson, who is a very corpulent woman, sat down hastily and complained that she was feeling badly. a moment later she collapsed. Mrs. Rasmus hastened to the Larson home, but before members of the family arrived hurriedly Mrs. Larson had died.
Mrs. Larson was born in Chicago, July 4, 1865. Her maiden name was Josephine Erickson. She became the wife of Helge Larson in Marshalltown, Jan. 5, 1882. Mr. and Mrs. Larson first lived in Ida county, then in Tama county for a number of years. Five years ago they moved to Vega, Texas, from where they returned to Le Grand two years ago.
Mrs. Larson was the mother of eight children, who , with their father survive her. The children are E.J. Larson, and Herman and Marion, LeGrand; Mrs. Oscar Turner, Mrs. James Sprouse and Dewey S. Larson, Vega, Tex.; Harry Larson, Montour; and George J. Larson, Marga, Tex. She also leaves three grandchildren. One half sister, Mrs. Anna Zimmerman, lives at Arcadia, Fla.
The funeral has been delayed owing to the fact that no word has been received from the son George Larson, who is a soldier in U.S. service and stationed on the Mexican border. A message arrived Thursday afternoon stating he would start for LeGrand at once and the funeral will no doubt be held Monday afternoon, at 1:30 at the house and 2 o'clock at the Friends church.
