OBITUARY
Brunner, Ann, aged 51 years, wife of James H. Brunner, died at her home 111 North Fourth Street, Tuesday evening, of heart disease. Mrs. Brunner had been afflicted with the trouble for years, but it has been only during the last few weeks that indications pointed to her condition becoming serious, and only within the past few days had she been considered dangerous. She was among the older residents of the city, having lived here for the past thirty-five years.
Anna Hall, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Hall, was born near Fond du Lac, Wis., July 11, 1851, and while yet a small child came with her parents to Marshall county, settling at Marrietta. After the county seat had been removed to this city the parents brought their family to Marshalltown and took up their abode in a little house that formerly stood on the corner of Main and Thirteenth streets. Here the parents died, and here, in September, 1871, she was united in marriage to James H. Brunner. Other than the husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Charles Williams and Miss Olive Brunner. Three sisters, Mrs. Amos Hall, south of the city, Mrs. Emmerette Messenger, and Mrs. C.W. Douglass, also survive her. The latter two live in Longmont, Col. Two brothers reside in Joseph, Oregon. The funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.

The funeral of
the late Mrs. James H. Brunner will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock from
the residence, 111 North Fourth street, Rev. Elijah Brown Jones, of the First Baptist
church, officiating. Internment will be in Riverside. The only sister of the
deceased, residing at a distance, whom it was thought might be present at the
funeral, is Mrs. C.W. Jenkins, of Kansas City, but word received from her is to
the effect that she is in such poor health that it will be impossible to come.
Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Brunner, of Newton, will be present at the funeral.
