Alphabetical List of Marion County Cemeteries

The following list is from the book Cemeteries of Marion County compiled by Marion County Genealogical Society, Third Printing 1994, Volume I.

Request from county coordinator: It would be nice if this could provide more information such as a table presenting: name, township, lat/long, links to listings, and so on. Anyone want to take this on? Some of the other pages here have some of this, but it needs to be put together.

*Thanks to Gayle Griffin for bringing this to my attention. She quoted an excerpt of a February 2005 email on IOWA-L with the subject line 'Pella Cemetery': "In 1856 the Pella First Reformed Church bought ten acres of land from William Van Asch to be used for burial purposes. It was named the First Reformed Church Cemetery. Later on in the late 1920's on recommendation of the Cemetery Committee the name was changed to Graceland Cemetery. Several more parcels of adjoining land were added through the years. It is located off North Main Street on Graceland Drive." - Greta
