This transcription was added by Al Hibbard on 19 Aug 2021. I started by using an idea that Rich Lowe suggested. I found the list of post offices in Marion county at the website for this book and started with those. Later, I did a general search for "Knoxville" since each town was described geographically relative to this place; this provided an extended list of towns without post offices or defunct post offices. I built the general template for the format of each page and started filling in the details. To obtain the text from Hathitrust.org, I use the Mac-based TextSniper application, which was VERY easy to use and helpful. I then cleaned up hypenation issues and spelling issues and wrapped li tags around each business. Then I added the specific page and link for each town. While I didn't actually record the time spent on the project, my estimate is about 9 hours.
