Naturalization Records for Lyon County

Naturalization was a two step process that took five years.   You had to reside in the United States for two years, and then you could file a "Declaration of Intention" to become a citizen.   After an additional three years in the United States, you could file for a "Certificate of Naturalization." When the petition was granted, a certificate was issued.
